cd-key probs, HELP!

i while back i bot opposing force, it came in a green case with a cd-key, i lost hl1 so i could never play it, but now steam exists and i thought i could.

i typed my opposing force cd-key into steam and it siad it was invalid! i made sure i didnt mess up, i didnt type it rong.

what do i do? is there a way to get a valid cd-key from valve? the key should have been valid already!

EDIT: in the pic i blacked out some other words for fun lol, and wrote useing steam color text to make it look like part of steam, that gave me some fun ideas lol.

possibly you registered that particular cd key with a different steam account, in that case it could be invalid as its part of another account? i dont really know...guess tbh

You can contact sierra and ask them whats going on.
You need to give them your cd-key and a number thats on the back of the disk somewhere, cant remember what its called though.

and the disk case only gots a cd-key on it, and it is green.
(it is not burned, it is very ligit looking case and ligit looking green disk with sierra logo and stuff)

If you didn't know already, Opposing force keys do not work with steam. Gunman keys do though.

You could find a budget release of Half-Life 1...although that will entail spending money.
