If I buy CS : CZ over the internet (not from Valve) and get a CD key will I be able to input the CD key without having to install CS : CZ and still be able to play the CS : S beta? The reason for this is simple, I want to buy this game online as it's cheaper and get the CD key sent to me by email before the game ships, that way I can have the key before I get the game so I don't have to wait 2 weeks to play CS: S. Anyone know anything about this?

You won't get a CDKey if you buy CZ over Steam but you will get access to the beta that's for sure :)

Well I understand that but I don't want to pay $29.95 for a game when I can get it for $10. Is there an online installer for CS : CZ if you have a valid CD key?

I believe so. I'm no expert. But if you go on Steam, theres the faded icon for CZ? Click on that and say load, details or whatever. I'm pretty sure it then asks:
Do you-
A. already have you CZ cd-key
or
B. wish to purchase CZ through Steam for $29.95

Try it, I can't really remember...
But if that works then I believe getting the CD-keyemailed would work.

Thanks, I will try it when I get home.

You can input the CZ cdkey without installing CZ.

Just did this a few days ago... (same reason as you :))

Open Steam
Click Browse Games
At the bottom, click "Register a Product I Already Own"

Follow the wizard, and ur all set :) It will ask you if you want to DL CZ, or CZ with the deleted scenes.

All done, simple as that.

Right click on the Steam icon and press 'Browse Games', a window should pop up, then just press the button 'Register a product i already own' at the bottom of that window, it should prompt you for a cd-key then.
The person you're buying it from might have registered it to his or her own Steam account though, so be careful with that ;)

[Edit]: Paintballer beat me to it...
