I got to 40 a few days ago... and I'm done really! It was good while it lasted, and I certainly got my money's worth, but it really does just end once you can't level anymore.
End-game consists of "daily quests" (which I hardly even bothered with even in WoW which I played for quite a while) and the same PvP you've been doing since level 31 that'll net you rewards that are worse than your quest items you get in the leveling process. The PvP is actually pretty maddening after a while too... it was a fun way to level up, but it's not nearly good enough to just play on its own like I can do with Guild Wars. Power balance and exploits is the craziest thing I've ever seen... and you absolutely can't kill someone by yourself if they run away.
Never planned on it, but I think I'll give Aion a try... hell, maybe I do need something that'll take me forever to get to max-level on.
