Well, the problem is I want to change me icons so they are in line with me theme I've got going on here, but for some reason certain programs open new instances of the program instead of opening it in the same icon. Let's take iTunes for example. I create a shortcut on me desktop, right click and change the icon to the one I want. Then I drag and drop it to pin it t the taskbar, and when I go to open it, iTunes opens itself up with the regular icon but Firefox, for example, opens in the same icon group.

Why is iTunes being so difficult? Do I have to change the core icon to get this to actually work for me? If so, how do I do that? I've tried pinning the new instance then changing the icon in there but it only changes the icon that's in the right click menu. Someone help me please. :)

Love you halplaffthoodotnoot.

Because you keep using "me" instead of "my" I refuse to help you.

Actually I really don't know how to help, I think the icon is embedded in the .EXE itself and I would guess windows is going off that instead of what you selected under properties of the shortcut. I would think there are applications out there that can edit the icon of a exe but I honestly I have no clue.

I've thought of that, too. The application that is, but the thing is, for the other applications I've changed, they were shortcuts themselves and yet they work flawlessly, but iTunes decides to be a rebel!

You can create a plain shortcut to the item and change that icon but the jump list feature also pops up on the taskbar for itunes.

Just did a google search and there is a program to make your own jump lists. I'm not sure if you can do the same thing iTunes has going with the playlists etc. But you can set the icon.
But you still might have the default jump list come up and your custom one too. hehe
