Changing the resolution without starting the game

It should be in your config.cfg, something along the lines of screenWidth and screenHeight.

create a shortcut for cs:s on the desktop from steam.
right click -> properties
in the target line add;
-width 1024 height 768 (or whatever u want ur res to be)
AFTER the rest of the text.
make sure u include a space between the '-' and the existing text.
changing your 'config.cfg' also does this. or you could just add the above lines to ur config.cfg .
