chapter 10-entanglement , help !!!

need help, im desperate !

i have reached chapter 10 entanglement and not sure how to proceed....I am at the part in cell block d8 where you get the three turrets which must be mounted while you wait for Alyx. I mount the three turrets, hear alyxs voice to confirm that soldiers are arriving and then nothing happens. Occasionaly one or two combines will arrive but thats all !! Simply waiting triggers Alyxs voice through all the stages, until she finally says shes coming to meet me but i wait and wait, and she doesnt arrive.....

Help, anybody got any ideas !! ????? what am i doing wrong, why arent the combines coming as they should and why does alyx not show up ?!?!?!?!

Have you tried restarting from your last save?

yep, tried restarting from a save right before when i disable the blue force field and take the turrets out to position them, and from a few saves slightly before (when crossing the electric water before reaching cell block d8) but same old story.........anyother suggestions.....i need to pass this and carry on with the game !!!! help !

Sounds like you've got a pirated version.

Verify game cache with Steam. If that doesn't work, pretty much nothing will.

hmm......i remember having A problem with this part of the level

my problem was the turrets werent working on my side and the combine were just running past as they please

i found out it was because i wasnt waiting for alyx to say what she had to say and just pulled the turets out immediatly

try waitig before pulling the turrets out that might help

im not accusing you of anything but if you are using a pirate copy, i highly suggest you get rid of it because not only are they illegal but they dont work and they may have viruses, spyware etc that could infect and mess up your computer. Trust me, i've been there and got the T-Shirt. Valve games are fairly cheap compared to most of todays games which average about ?40-?50 whereas Episode one ive seen being sold for ?15...
