On the news section of this site, i saw the page of the page of the prima strat guide. I have to say it looks cool. On the right though, it says it has 14 chapters instead of the 6 that people found were preloaded. So, is there another preload with more maps?

Ooh, I love the sounds of those chapter names. Some of them are of course related to physics terms, a lá Valve.

The fifth one on the list looks interesting. Maybe that chapter will explain some things about Half-Life 1.

If I recall correctly, there were 10 chapters in the first Half-Life and each was broken down into sections. For example, chapter 7 consisted of "Apprehension", "Residue Processing", and "Questionable Ethics". Some chapters consisted of only one or two sections like chapter 8, which was only "Surface Tension".

So, from the looks of it, Half-Life 2 might be even longer than the first.

I've heard, can't remember where, that HL2 is gunna be about twice as long as the original. I think it was from the first preview in UK PC Gamer... back in the day when they said it was gunna be releasd 2003... so perhaps it'll be longer (they've had time to make it).

I think with HL2 tho the great thing is the gameplay. Sure, none of us have played it, but you can tell when summats gunna be fun. HL2 will be fun, and, it seems long too.

Gabe said a while back that it would take 36 to 48 hours to complete HL2.

Well, as we know from the reviews, that's not gonna be the case: it will take about 20 hours on the "normal" setting but could possibly be extended due to exploration/experimentation.

I really don't remember how long it took to complete the original game on its first run through.

Lol am I the only one here who couldnt beat hl1? I remember I got to the surface, and had no ammo for jack shit, then a helicopter comes and I waste all my ammo to destroy it, then I get to the desert and another one came and I just got stuck once I reached the sand area, which now I know isnt even half way through lol. THe game took me SOOOO LONG to get there, but then again, maybe it was cause I was like 12 years old, hmm, I dont even have half life 1 anymore. Bummer

Actually, they were chapters themselves. So there were actually 17 chapters. It's just, some of them were really short, like the Xen chapters.
