I think this is a video card/driver problem, but I've done as much as I can on that end. I have a Sony notebook computer (so I can't switch the video card) with ATI Radeon 7500c, and I downloaded the latest drivers offered by Sony--ATI doesn't provide notebook drivers.
Characters and some objects--it seems moving, shader, and semi-transparent--are just black blobs. My system meets recommended specs except for the video card, which meets minimum specs.
I made a backup and tried it on my roomates computer (which is underpowered and crashes at every load/autosave) and didn't have the same problem, so it's probably isn't corrupt game data as some others have had.
Is there anything I can do, or is this going to have to be another excuse to buy a desktop computer?
