chat mIRC problems

I have logged onto halflife2 on quakenet before, I am not a complete noob to mIRC but yet lately I've been getting

[10:23] #halflife2 Cannot join channel (+r)

I can join other channels but nothing under the halflife2 like second test or anything.

Have I been banned without knowing? I have no idea how I could be though

+r means you have to auth before joining the channel, but it seems you already did that before doing so, which is odd. Just try authing again, then join.
