Installed the cheat mode? What's this mean?

Not sure what he did all I know is when you play the game you are invincable when you get shot the health stays full

Ask him what he did exactly and tell us here.

Before you start the game he went into properties went to" set launch options" and added this, "sv_cheats 1" he says change this to "sv_cheats 0" and it will take the cheat mode off but it does not.

There must be some other modification that turns on sv_cheats and god mode at startup. I can't remember where that file is or how you can change it, someone else will have to find this thread and help out.

But it should. Try console and type in the same code, sv_cheats 0.

Type "unbindall" in the console, then go into your keyboard preferences in Half Life 2 and check the box that reverts everything to default keys.

Thanks anyway. I hate it when kids play with my stuff. I love the game and just want it to be the way it was Thanks again

Oh jeez why did I read 'nephew' as 'brother'. I thought you were some little kid and your older brother was messing with your game or something. Weird how I get that impression based on the nature of the thread when that was completely not the case.

Anyway, if nothing works, you can always delete the game and reinstall it.

You have to disable god mode first. Type "god" then Sv_cheats 0" Typing SV_cheats 0 does disable cheats currently activated.

I would have thought going into the launch options and deleting all commands in there will stop them being run when you start the game.
