Cheat or glitch exploit

No doubt some of you have/will come across this as well. Last night on a public, VAC secured server playing Goldrush a couple of medics (both named Uber<something> for obvious reasons) managed to ruin the game as they were permanently self-ubered. They just ran around hacking everyone down with the saw.

Anyone know if this is a glitch from the last update or was this an out and out cheat?

That sounds awesome.

Saw it today, irritating as ****.

Eventually he got kicked, but still.

It's not a cheat or an exploit, it's the problem if introducing new weapons to a pretty well balanced game. I pointed this out in the "New Wedic Weapon Stratagies" thread. I can't see how valve didn't see this comming tbh. I think valve are going to have to nurf the ubersaw, 25% uber for one hit is rediculas. Hopefully it'll be changed to 10% or even 5%. It would still be playable, just not game ruiningly good.

Except you can't be Ubered and have the saw out at the same time, so it's not a problem with the Ubersaw.

Unless that video's description is true, which still isn't a problem with the Ubersaw's charge rate, but rather with how the game handles the weapon switching (as in, any Medic weapon that can potentially increase the UberCharge meter can be equipped at the same time as one's own UberCharge.)

Saw this today, a player named Science managed to kill pretty much an entire team

It may well be due to the new weapons but I doubt if it's intentional on Valve's part. I switched to spectator to get a better look and as far as I could see there was hardly any weapon switching back to the medic gun going on. Even if there was a script doing that faster than the eye could see I also noticed that they stayed ubered more than 10 seconds without getting any kills that would top up the charge.

That sounds like it would be hard enough to do as a medic that Valve wouldn't sweat it? You have to hit four people within ten seconds continuously to make it work where they are invulnerable for the shortest amount of time. Also, I've landed four hits on one person with that saw, and unless they're already damaged or a class with particularly low health, they won't die. I thought of something this morning, and this is probably as good a place as any to post it: how to use the Kritzkreig to kill an uber. You'll need a demoman volunteer and some cooperation.

Medic loads up the kritzkreig and charges it. Demo loads up the sticky launcher and gets kritzed. Critical stickies are placed across a choke point in as dense of a line as possible. Note that the choke point must have open sky above it. Now it's not too often that a medic will run right next to his patient... he'll usually be somewhat behind. Get the oncoming ubered pair to cross the line and detonate them when the patient is on or just past it. This'll send the patient flying out of the range of the medic's uber, and it'll be busted. (If the choke point has a roof, this'll just knock them around.) This works pretty good on maps where you know ubered people will be coming out of the gates... once the patient walks out, blast him across the map away from his medic, and handle him. If you're being griefed by a pair of ubered medics, this should bust them up. They may figure out to stay together, but their flight time will give everyone time to regroup. As long as they're not ubered, you're just facing two medics with a melee weapon. They'll need your attention, but can be dropped from safe distances.

If you've got serious cooperation going on (rare), have the demo and medic recharge the kritz away from the conflict as fast as possible (demo hurt self so medic can heal faster - the healing is only sped up during set up time, so this'll help during live fighting). Have the sniper watch the stickies and call "Pull!" when the demo should detonate them, giving the sniper a shot at tagging the airborne enemy out of the air, and making for a damn satisfying defense.

This happened to me twice today with Uber<something>(Same people) and they just ran around killing everyone with saws and killed sentry's without any worry.

Sorry, I miss understood the origonal post. I have seen 2 medics, both with ubersaws ubercarging eachother and then swithching weapons so between them there was a constant charge, which is pretty annoying.

Not as annoying as that youtube video however. Hopefully Valve will put an end to it soon!

This occurred to me, too. Very annoying and game disrupting. Valve will surely fix this glitch.

>I have seen 2 medics, both with ubersaws ubercharging each other

Maybe that's another way of achieving a similar effect, though I doubt if you could keep such a routine up for long, but not what I saw. Initially there was just the one permanently ubered medic - he stayed that way for at least five minutes and wasn't cooperating with anyone. Later another one, presumably a mate with the same trick ready, joined the server when a slot became available.

You can also get infinite crits if you do what you did for the infinite uber backwards.

It's a glitch. You can't change weapons while perma-ubered, apparently.

Valve will no doubt fix this within a could of days of weeks. I'm sure it is their top priority.

Just have someone heal them and it will go away,Also you can only switch weapons once or it will go away.

By the way, I've never seen so many medics in all my TF2 games... ;)

Yes it happend twice now at UKCS#1 server.

I was playing at Dustbowl, the enemy pyro's medic got killed but the pyro is still in ubber mod the whole game :(

second time it was on well, with the medic stayed in ubber mod for like 4 mins till the admin kicked him out,

99% of gamers who saw this think its a bug,..... someone needs to report it to valve.
(Its a bug).:dozey::dozey::dozey:

If someone on your team is perma-ubered heal them immediatly. This stops the uber. This exploit is caused by the new weapons update, but not by the ubersaw.

What he said.

Heck, I didn't even have to watch some how-to video. It's so easy to find about it.

* Fixed unlimited UberCharge exploit
* Fixed charge effect getting stuck on the Kritzkrieg when changing class/weapons
:D

Was playing today to find out none of the Medics were able to use their unlocked weapons, the unlockables still showed in thier
loadout menus as being equipped, but only the standard ones would appear in game.
Time for an update of the update to the patch that fixed the update...

Heard of it. Not experienced it.

I see nothing wrong with the crits on the bonesaw, though.
