Hi people. i have compleated HL2 and loved it. now i want to mess around but i dont understand something. the god mode cheat, why does it say server only. what is that. thanx ppl :afro:

Maybe that you have to be the one running the game/server in order to enable cheats? Type sv_cheats 1 in console first, then god. Cheats don't work unless you enable them first.

As a client on somebody elses server, you cannot enable god mode for obvious reasons. It can only be turned on at the server level. When you are playing single player you are on your own server.

Lets go over this again.

Cheats can only be set on the server.
When you play single player, you are your own server.
Therefore, when you play single player, you can cheat.
