Cheating offline with Bots

I have read there's some console cvars. 1 of them makes the player god-like.
Now I'm not going online on a real server, I just want to kill and not get killed.

In the console, when I put in sv_cheats 1, nothing happens. When I put in god, nothing happens. Why? It's supposed to say "sv_cheats enabled" and "Godmode On". But it doesn't.
I even have "-sv_cheats 1" in the Target line of my CS:S Shortcut on my Desktop.

Let's say I'm tired of bots in EASY mode getting some cheap shots at me and nailing me with a Utzi when I have a AWM/P.

Now, don't start with the "OMG!!! He's a cheater!!! CHEATER ALERT!!!!!" crap. I said, this is OFFLINE, on my own "server", playing with Bots ONLY.
So please help me out.

There's no way to cheat with noclip unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1 anyways, so stop needlessly defending yourself that you will only use these holy commands in offline mode.

And if you can't beat the bots on easy, maybe its time for some more experience w/o cheats?

I thought by creating a "server", that's the server that you can enable sv_cheats 1 on.
How do you enable it then? Do you need a REAL Server?

And, I'm telling the truth that I won't be using these cheats on a real server. Just for bot play.

You can play with sv_cheats on, even with a non-dedicated server, just some of the main cheats that work for Half-Life 2 don't work for Counter-Strike: Source at all (god mode for example).

I'm going by this site that has CS:S Console Cvars;

And 1 of them has this;
593 god cmd Toggle. Player becomes invulnerable.

Now why would they put that there if it don't work in CS:S, when it shows it's part of this CS:S Console Cvar List?

188 bot_knives_only cmd Restricts the bots to only using knives
199 bot_stop 0
202 bot_zombie 0

These are the only cvars that I think might help me out with "getting the upper hand" with my enemies.

There's a script pack (Red Claw Clan) which I used to use when I couldn't be arsed with proper play and just wanted to own Expert bots a bit.

Search Google for "Red Claw Clan", though people have had trouble with getting rid of it if they have other scripts installed but you can just delete your CSS folder and it'll all reset from the GCF's.

What The RCC Script does:
Adds, among other things (which I don't use), A Wall Hack ability (Needs sv_cheats 1 enabled, for wireframe so online cheating is impossible) and a bullet time mod (Needs sv_cheats 1 and sv_pausable 1) which makes everything slo-mo so you can get those headshots perfect

I was on a server once and the admin set himself to godmode. :x

There is no godmode in Deathmatch. If you start your own server by running HL2DM and clicking create server, then you can click "~", then enter sv_cheats 1 (nothing will appear, but it works), and enter "Buddha". This is like godmode except you will get hurt untill you have 1 health.
