I did not know this:

Hell houses are haunted attractions typically run by American, fundamentalist Christian churches or parachurch groups. These depict sin, the torments of the damned in Hell, and usually conclude with a depiction of heaven. They are most typically operated in the days preceding Halloween, although they are not part of the holiday.

A hell house, like a conventional haunted-house attraction, is a space set aside in which actors attempt to frighten patrons with gruesome exhibits and scenes.

The exhibits at a hell house often have a controversial tone and focus on sins that are also issues of concern to evangelicals in the United States. Hell houses frequently feature exhibits that depict sin and its consequences. Common examples include abortion, suicide, use of alcoholic beverages[citation needed] and other recreational drugs, adultery and pre-marital sex, occultism, homosexuality, and Satanic ritual abuse. Hell houses typically emphasize the belief that anyone who does not accept Christ as their personal savior is damned to Hell.

this is pretty bizarre if you ask me; it's like scare tactics and propaganda as a business. Gotta wonder what the state of mind is of some of the people who go to these sort of things ..simple minded at best

anyone here ever been to one?

I heard of these a couple of years ago. I would never go into one of these. There would be a lot of punching involved.

there's a bunch of these stupid places and they are all different and project an individuals vision of what hell would be like. It's stupid.

and no i haven't been to one

are they like helfire and brimstone scary?

"Maggots are your sheets, worms your blanket, there's a lake of fire burning with sulfur. You'll be tormented day and night for ever and ever. As a matter of fact, if you actually saw hell, you'd be so frightened, you would die."

or more ned flanders "scary":

"Ok, boys, when you meet Jesus, be sure to call Him Mr. Christ. "

I spent much of my childhood afraid of dying and going to hell. When I first moved to Alaska, I had an extreme nervous breakdown of sorts(for a child), worried about dying and going to hell.

Even through much of my teenage life I also struggled with those fears, and after I eventually shed them by discarding my faith I have noticed a sharp improvement in my mental health and the kinds of thoughts I had.

Don't they call these places 'churches'?

Christian Hell House sounds like it'd be an awesome band.

Also I feel like crashing one of these now. I was kinda hoping it'd be more of a "Dante's Inferno" type Hell, but that video M4d posted kinda just looks like stuff I saw outside my apartment window.

it's kind of like the same principle as pointing a gun to someone's head and telling them to do what you want.
