Chrome headcrab?

I was playing through Ravenholm again and suddenly a headcrab I killed turned all chromy!

Now I am just confused. :x

I'm pretty sure that the coloring is gone there, leaving only the specular. At least, that's what it looks like. You can use the command mat_diffuse 0 to cause a similar effect; the bitmaps become really dark, but the specular and other effects stay, making them much more obvious.

i have the same card, i get that effect sometimes on my crowbar and other objects. its just a little bug somewhere.

It seems to be a bug on the 9600XT. My friend has one and he gets the same effect sometimes.

nah its just the lighting, in some places the headcrabs and such can be really white, happens to me

I remember a short story about a time traveler who is both his own father and mother. It's kind of complicated. But basically because he/she's inbred his/her genes are messed up. So anyways, she's born a girl, grows up as an orphan not knowing her parents, sleeps with this wierd guy and gets pregnant. Then in the pregnancy her womb is messed up and they find that she has male organs so she is turned into a man. Then his baby is stolen and he is recruited to become a time travelling person and the story repeats itself.

The point is, it's possible for Gordon to create himself

Ah yes, that story is "All You Zombies" by Robert Heinlein. The "Zombies" in the title, of course, refers to the headcrab zombies that appear in the story and attack the protagonist. :E
