Chronicles Of Riddick.

I thought the final battle kicked ass. Shoot out the lights and turn on nightvision (or w/e they call it) and you can always see them...

Or of course you could just pick up the mini gun and spray. You're bound to hit one, and then all it does is fall back whilst you blast away. Lameondo. Something insanely climatic would have been nice.

I am going to play through it again, re-installing.

This game is unbelivably good, since im a HUGE fan of both the Silent Hill series aswell as Half-Life i cant betrade those games so i must say its not better, but it is fantastic. Graphics are awesome and it doesnt lagg at all as most games do on my PC.

I have it, didn't think that much of it tbh. Combat felt clunky. I can appreciate it has it's high points, and as far as I see it beats most other FPS competition, but is that really saying that much anyway? Most FPS games have been the same for 5 or even 10 years now.

I can't wait to see what Starbreeze comes out with next.

Riddick was one of the top 3 FPShooters of last year.

I had no idea this game was gonna be this good. Easily up There with Half-Life 2 and such.

The graphics are awesome too!! I have it on the 2.0 ++ setting with Athlon 64 3500 and 7800 GT.

Check out these screenshots.

Im at the part in the game where I just got down to the mines. Getting harder, no gun, gotta use Stealth.

It wasn't too special. I found it a bit dull even. Just running and gunning, and ragdolls were quite crappy. Vin Diesel's voice is great, though. I played it once but am not going to play it again.

Damn, the soft shadows make the game look 10 times as good.

Not ass-kicking of her level.

Top Secret, I really don't care about the practicality of the situation. The fact is that "Jack" no longer existed and they could have just as well created an entirely different character.

If they wanted to put Jack in the movie, then they should have retained more of that character. Nothing dictated that their reunion had to take place in a prison. Nothing dictated that she had to go down that particular path and turn out that way. The writers could have completely spared us this "Keira" bullshit.

What? I disagree. Where else could they have met? All Jack wanted to do was get into a prison. Don't you remember in Pitch Black? "Where can I get eyes like that?" "First you gotta kill a few people." And he talks about going to a prison, where you can find a doc to do it. So naturally, that's where she goes. To get her eyes shined. And her real name IS Keira, but Jack was what everyone knew her as on that planet. Watch Dark Fury, it will put things into perspective.

And ofcourse she didn't "HAVE" to go down that path. But what did you want? Him to run across her on some farm and she's a kid again? That wouldn't make sense. He wanted to protect her, and actually wanted to stay away from her. So in actuality, it's the only way they could have reasonably met.

Just running and gunning

If you thought this game was "just running and gunning" you obviously didn't play it.

You didn't even HAVE a gun for large sections of the game. lol.

Blah.

Again, I don't care about the practicality within the narrow path the writers decided on. The core of my argument was that Keira/Jack/whatever in Chronicles is such a major departure from her character in Pitch Black. None of the looks, style, personality, mannerisms were retained. Again, they might as well have created a wholly different character rather than have a cheap tie to the previous film. "OMG it's Jack! Except it isn't!".

And to think that she and Riddick were somehow creatively constrained to such a meet-up is ridiculous. Again, there were millions of ways to do it. I won't claim to know the best one, or even a good one. However, I can safely say that I don't feel the one in Chronicles was the best, let alone good.

As for her aspiring to be like Riddick, I would hope there'd be more character development than attempted mimicry. Riddick, as a character, changed by the end of Pitch Black. Being a badass who gets his kicks from murdering people obviously wasn't much of his thang any more. If he's such a big role model to Keira, then perhaps she would have gotten a clue and followed in his footsteps, foregoing the stupid childhood ambition of being a convict.

You and I obviously don't see eye to eye on this, so I'll leave it at that.

I think those of us who have seen Chronicles of Riddick can all agree on one thing though.

Keira was ****ing hot.
