TLDR: it's not what you think, it's not a mistake he made. he writes about becoming the president of texas in an uprising against the US government

tee hee I think his toupee is on too tight:

On Glenn Beck's radio show last week, I quipped in response to our wayward federal government, "I may run for president of Texas."

That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.

From the East Coast to the "Left Coast," America seems to be moving further and further from its founders' vision and government.

yes the left coast is taking over america! :rolling:

John Adams declared that, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people." Yet we've bastardized the First Amendment, reinterpreted America's religious history and secularized our society until we ooze skepticism and circumvent religion on every level of public and private life.

How much more will Americans take? When will enough be enough? And, when that time comes, will our leaders finally listen or will history need to record a second American Revolution? We the people have the authority according to America's Declaration of Independence

is he really calling for an uprising because america isnt closer to jebus and sends aid to hamas?

When I appeared on Glenn Beck's radio show, he told me that someone had asked him, "Do you really believe that there is going to be trouble in the future?" And he answered, "If this country starts to spiral out of control and Mexico melts down or whatever, if it really starts to spiral out of control, before America allows a country to become a totalitarian country (which it would have under I think the Republicans as well in this situation; they were taking us to the same place, just slower), Americans won't stand for it. There will be parts of the country that will rise up." Then Glenn asked me and his listening audience, "And where's that going to come from?" He answered his own question, "Texas, it's going to come from Texas. Do you agree with that Chuck?" I replied, "Oh yeah!" Definitely.

It was these types of thoughts that led me to utter the tongue-n-cheek frustration on Glenn Beck's radio show, "I may run for president of Texas!"

I'm not saying that other states won't muster the gumption to stand and secede, but Texas has the history to prove it.

he's obviously taken one too many blows to the head over the years

Chuck Norris isn't running for president of Texas. Texas runs from him, literally.

ehh...i suck at chuck norris jokes

Southerners got their asses kicked before, they'll get their asses kicked again.

<brushes up his sleeves>

I'm severely outnumbered here. I have work to do. I know I'll be able to find pockets of resistance and unify them into a more cohesive power until we get reinforcements from the north. We'll have our own little Alamo's across this state, except we'll actually win and not get our asses handed to us.

I for one welcome our new chuck norris overlord

"President Obama, satellites indicate a massive thermonuclear detonation, sixty megaton range. We don't have anything that powerful, neither do the Russians. Our experts say it can only be one thing... Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kicked a pile of Plutonium."

Nevermind.

Trust me when I say that he knows what he speaks of on Texas being one of if not the first to have an uprising.

If it succeeds or not, I cannot tell; if other states joined, we could have a fighting chance. I'd rather not think of what would happen if they didn't.

For a bunch of God fearing morons, Texans sure don't seem capable of appreciating that liberal free and secular societies seem to do overwhelmingly better then religious bigoted theocratic ones.

They might wanaa ask their god (who has never once done anything for them to warrant such blind dumb ass obedience) why the satan worshipping secularists get the nice green pleasant blessed lands of the world with the golden fields of grain and green carpets of forest and clean gurgling streams and rivers abundant with fish and few to no real drastic dangerous geological or meteorological conditions or dangerous wildlife while the religious types seem consistently to be stuck with the deserts, volcanoes, poisonous reptiles and hostile predators, the floods and hurricanes and oppressive burning suns that smash into the blasted deserts they dwell in.

If anyone asks me God, or whoever he is if he is at all, probably likes the secularists/moderates/non-morons more.

[/atheist rant without the effort]

everyday people are not prepared to overrun the gov't. the military would take over every town, city and station and people's rights would be abused even more. also robotics are now entering the fold and the military has X many tricks up its sleeves the public is even aware of. not to sound pessimistic but an uprising or Revolution is far from near

How pissed would the south be if the north seceded first? I'd support that!

no...a bunch of can shooting rednecks will prevent it from ever happening, don't worry.

Am I the only one that sees no problem with just letting them go?

I rather like the idea of it actually ... this is probably the best thing for all involved :p .

A fairly significant portion of this state is actually filled with people who aren't the types that conjure up ire of the rest. Some are people trapped in the state for various reasons... others simply love the state for whatever reason but aren't wacky right wingers.

We'd be trapped here. TRAPPED!

Don't they have billions of dollars of NASA-funded shit in the state which they'd be nicking?
