You know, it may just be the crazy meds they give kids these days (including me and my singulair) but the youngsters always seem so out of it and lost ever since they cut everything having to do with religion in schools. Not to say the current system sucks. Sure, it has it's successes. But as far as NY goes, everyone = pathetically |censored| ing.


It's not like you say. "here's religion, eat it or die". No, it's just simply saying to kids "most people believe in one of these things, you should have the basic knowledge of all of them so your not completely lost when you talk to these people in the business world." We are training these kids to succeed in life, right?

Public schools in NY are krap though. To do a simple comparison, a friend of mine went there. He's twp years older then me and now in college. While my Catholic grammar school prepared me for high school in more ways then one, he fooled around in public school. As a freshmen, i was ready and a gentleman. Got excellent grades and still do. It took him till junior year to realize that he had to work hard for college. He still got into a good school in the end, but it took him 3 years of high school to realize that. I knew it going in.

So yea, public school is good elsewhere. But I wouldn't exactly say it's grade A in NY.

Well, most public school kids I know generally have a lower average. There are those geniuses who can do something though.

Moses and Saladin are not fiction. Sorry pal, alot of the historical figures in most religious books are real. Mohamed, also that dude I can't remember who was going to cut the kid in half to show who the real parent was, etc. I can't even think of anyone from the quran or Bible who are fictional. Maybe their stories are a tad fairytale from the test of time, but their characters were real.

I'm talking about leaving it the way it is.

But Genghis Khan could quiet possible be described as God on Earth. He DID create one of the most successful Empires and and government to see all of Eurasia. And if there is a mainstream Religion floating around in the Mongolian areas, you might as well tell kids about it. I was talking about mainstream religions world wide though. And not forcing it to them. As I said, just telling them that people out there believe things and you shouldn't be a complete idiot to 90% of the world. Which is, essentially, what they do now. SO keep the current system.
