Circumcision?

Just sitting in the bath and a question came into my head, how many men are circumcised and what are the reasons behind circumcision, apart from being Jewish?

So people claim circumcision ruins the sensitivity of the head, others claim circumcision is much more hygenic, is it better to be circumcised or not? Are you circumcised and regret it or are you not and wish to be?

Personally, i don't see a reason behind it and just see it as a form of mutilation.

Nope. I agree, it's a form of mutilation, which is ingrained into ancient cultures. Some of which even practice on female, which is a horrible mutilation. Hygiene isn't an issue, I bathe regularly with soap and hot water. It's only useful if you're living in the desert for years and aren't likely to wash.

Couldn't imagine life without the ol' skin.

Nope, not circumcised. I used to dream of circumcision until one of my friends told me if I didnt shut up he would cut it off himself. That was a day of realisation for me. Never looked back. Basically, I think, most people will simply defend how they are. Most of the rest are simply finding a reason to be unhappy/angry (i.e. They are teenagers, or havent grown up since they were teenagers)

Yes I was. No, I'm not Jewish. No, I don't care. It was done sometime very shortly after birth, so it wasn't my choice. Everything seems to be in perfect working condition.

I remember it (I swear that). I actually have many memories from my early, early childhood.

If i had it done i would probably get really pissed off when i went out for a run and it had "friction".

I'm circumsized and I'm not Jewish. I had a condition called Phimosis (look it up, if you care) which meant I had to be circumsized.

It was VERY painful (I was 18 at the time, it's less painful if you are younger). I couldn't wear trousers for a week, and it was painful to walk for about a month. You aren't allowed to "get aroused" for 6 weeks. I once was dreaming of a rather arousing dream and I woke up in the worst pain imaginable.

So yeah, I wouldn't recommend having it done for fun.

People should live how they were born. Well, I do go to an orthodontist, but they don't just cut off my lips. Why would anyone want to have a knife close to his penis?

On the other hand, I think it really does make your penis cleaner.

I dunno what the hell I got... I got skin around my dickhead, but it doesn't completely cover. I think I got a halfway circumcision, I got skin but it aint as much as an uncircumsized person.

I am, but it was at birth, so i didn't have a choice, and it doesn't really bother me. ALthough I dont know what it would be like if i wasn't. but i will prolly circumsize my children, its cleaner and stuff, o and btw, I am not Jewish.

I think circumsision in a religion may be ok, because it is their belief. And you do what you believe in. Otherwise, what are you?

Some cases its medical, when i was at school there was a kid who had to have it done because it was "too tight" ......when he got an erection it would be very painful e.t.c

He kept it quiet but a few people had a laugh at him.

typically, but we aren't very strictly jewish we just celebrate passover a bit. Anyways almost everyone in the states gets circumsized these days.

I'm circumsized becuz im jewish on my dad's side but i havent seen neone in the thread have a real actual reason except for being jewish. I think i heard somewhere that it makes sex more pleasurable, but idk.

I've never had any problems, clean as a whistle.

As I said earlier, circumcision was introduced as a solution to infections occuring in the hot climates, and where you couldn't get a good wash for months, eg the desert.
It's also in cultures where circumcision is a "rights of passage" or becoming a man. But I don't feel any less of a man, keeping a part I was born with.


However in a temperate climate the advantages of this are limited. People don't generally get STIs unless it's actually from sex, in this kind of climate.

If you wash regularly and properly, there's no need for circumcision. And I'd like to keep my sensitivity. Chafing while doing sports or even walking must be annoying :x Keep the barrier between yourself and the cloth.

So I guess you could say circumcision is for lazy people who don't like baths

I can't compare sex with and without circumcision, but I can tell you that sex after circumcision is still, in my opinion, an incredibly pleasurable experience.
