I obviously read nothing about this game, and simply ASSUMED that it would just be a far better singleplayer city building game to replace peoples interests in sim city.

Not in the beta, but in final release. I think they want to do stuff relating to multiplayer components such as trading and saving ever-changing cities on servers for the beta.

But this is very early on in the beta, apparently they want to run it for at least 2 months, gradually introducing new features (mass transit, which is missing at the moment) and the two GEMS which are suppose to accompany it on release. Hopefully they'll introduce the singleplayer sometime in a later build.

Just to clarify, the monthly subscription only applies to the multiplayer component, and the monthly subscription is in fact 3 months for 1

Been following this game for a while now, sorry to hear the beta hasn't gotten off to the best start but, hey, that's what betas are for.

Where does Fileplanet give out the beta keys? All I see are download links for the client itself.

Been playing this and I must say it is pretty good

The NDA is confusing, there isn't one for press but there is meant to be one for everyone else. Yet on Shacknews they were encouraging people to talk all about the game...odd!
