City Environ Mapper Looking for Work

Greetings,

I am a city/citadel environment mapper. I mapped for the objective-based TDM City13 before its collapse. I'm fairly good with city, citadel, and factory environs. Below are some Hammer screens, because I'm oh-so-lazy about compiling.
I've made and completed two city maps, and am working on a third. (dm_downtown, c13_citycentre, dm_canals, respectively)

you should show rendered work

saying you didnt because your lazy doesnt say much for your work ethic
 
Do you only want to do Half Life 2 work?
Also i agree with Shinobi, lazyness is not a good thing to put across.

But i like your work.
 
Well, compiling the c13_citycentre takes a good 12 hours, and the dm_canals an hour.

Anyway, thanks for the comments!

EDIT: Yes, and I'd like to stay as a city mapper.
 
I meant Half Life, not city

it's ok, it's good work, would look better compiled
 
have you optimized it ? 12 hours is a bit long .... :|

He might just have a slow computer... I've made small CS:S maps that take forever to compile because the PC was so damn slow...

Anyway, nice looking work. I still want to see it in-game, though.
 
Maps can't be very well optimized if they take that long to compile :O

What was your name on the C13 team? I also worked for them...

that's not exactly true... the HL2 maps take that long to compile for me..

Quite good and full of fruitful modding!

Still pissed at the suddenness of City 13's demise, though.
 
I personally still think Sam and Shunt were taking to much of a "let's make it JUST LIK HALO 2" approach to it, with all those 'heres a pic of halo, make it like that' stuff.

I didn't even know about C13's fall until about two weeks after, I thought the website was just under maitinence. I FINISHED my c13_citycentre but I don't have anywhere to releace it. :(
 
Didn't C13 place all its assets in like 14 concept artists? D:

We had like 50 members, so there were far too many people in some areas (most areas) but we did have a couple of good people buried in there.
 
12 hours? Christ, I compiled Habboi's map on my pc (which was about the same size) and it only took 30 minutes =/

I got a 3200+ Athlon XP and 1gb ram.
 
Seeing as the compile tools are 32-bit, that would be a bit of a false economy.

Yes they are compatible, but it would still only run it at 32 bits, so its just like Pi Mu Rho said.

building lightfaces 0...1...2...3...(3 hours and 15 minutes later)...4...5..(5 hours)..6...7...8...9...10 (yay 7 hours!)

I've learnt to start the compile just before I go to sleep. that way you wake up, go to the toilet, make coffee, sit by the pc for half an hour more, to find that the map constraints or something are f***ed, and it didnt compile. yes I understand and empathize
 
7 hours for a compile? Either you're using a 486, or you have a lot to learn about optimisation.
 
very nice map, i would like to see the compiled verison with the lightning etc!!

once again on my athlon 2100, one of the valve maps took 12 hours to compile
 
yes it would run it at 32 bits but according to amd it runs better and they are super fast.
 
I'd like to know how well the OP can handle destroyed cities, because if he can I've got a position for him.
