Aloha!

I wanted to inform everybody that the 3rd episode of Civil Protection is now up, so go and download it! This doesn't have as much action as the previous ones, but I think it's pretty funny. In this episode, Mike and Dave sing songs (I apologize in advance about that part) and encounter a strange individual. Here are the links:

Also, I've been advised that I should ask for help in using Digg to expose the series to more people. I've submitted a digg of the first episode, since everyone likes ninjas, as I've statistically proven. The more feedback I get, the more encouraged I am to keep making more of these episodes. So if you don't mind, go ahead and click on the digg link (if you have an account) for me. Thanks!

Lol, that was hilareous.

No action but it was still cool. Good use of musical cues too.

Well thanks for the comments! As for for the musical cues, it was a little more blunt than I would have preferred, but I'm still experimenting with that (as I am with almost everything else about the series).

The singing was the best part about the episode.

I've been working on the railroad
every pointless day
I've been working on the railroad
when my life gets pissed away
can't you hear the whistle blowing
shattered my dreams in the mourn(?)
can't you hear the captain shouting
wish I was never born

Why didn't he have a shadow? Engine limitation which you worked in? :O

The singing was the best part about the episode.
It's "While my life gets pissed away" and "Shatter my dreams in the morn'" and unfortunately that's the one part of the episode that isn't original, I stole that directly from the show "Daria", which is why it's listed in the credits. I thought that variation of the song was great and wanted to work it in.

As a rule of thumb though I try pretty hard to make sure everything I write is all my own material and not just modifying something else. If I do blatantly steal something like that though, I will credit it (again, it should be rare, I have no plans of that for any future episodes so far).

Well you tell me man, I presented a couple theories in the episode, but I imagine there are others. It's not an engine limitation, it was intentionally done. Although HL2 DOES have engine limitations with shadows. No props can RECEIVE dynamic shadows. This drove me absolutely nuts in episode 2 trying to use Valve's dumpster model, until I broke down and modelled it myself out of brushes so it could receive shadows.

Oh, Source engine, another gaping flaw! :O

downloading now. expecting amazingness like before. You completed this one much faster than usual :O

*edit* Hilarious! Is anyone else reminded of that "gordon has no shadow" thread? I was the one that said gordy was a vamp :D
also, nice use of fallout music.

hahaha, I liked this one a lot, nice job. Shorter, but has more laughs packed in.

lol @ brief burst of Painkiller music at the end.

Oh, yeah, that reminds me: Frohman model, right? :D

I laughed quite a bit at the singing bit at the start :D Funn-y.

Heh, very nice work, once again.

Keep up the great work...
