I never liked Alpha Centauri. I think its because I love history, and I like being able to identify with the technologies and progress of my civilization. In Alpha Centauri, it was all random new stuff. In the ideal world, you just preload the game a week or two prior to release and then you get it instantly on the day. Shame that publishers are obviously terrified of that.
