This game has been around for a LONG time, and I got into it when Clonk Planet came out (I think CP is free now), then Clonk Endeavour came out, my friend bought the full version, he didn't want it anymore and gave the serial to me, so I have the full version of Clonk Endeavour.

I made this thread to ask if anyone has ever heard of it before, it is a really solid game, and it can be downloaded for free (Not the full version, but the full game is easy enough to "get").

Link to Clonk

It's a neat little "Survival" type game, and it is alot better if you download the "Far Worlds" expansion (free), the best scenario is the arctic. So I just wanted you all to know about this cool little game..

Clonk Planet is basicly the same thing as Clonk Endeavour, not any really noticable changes, just the graphics are a bit better, but it's still 2d, if you don't want the trouble of getting a serial, download Clonk Planet, it's free..

I wanted to bump this thread, because I want to know if anyone has played it, and what they thought, it is a multiplayer game, too y'know...

Im looking at the screens and i cant make of what kind of game this is. 2d Side scroller, worms type game?

Um... tbh... this looks pretty shit. I'd probably try it if I weren't about to embark on about 6 weeks of holidays.

It's 2d, but it's like an RTS, you build stuff, research stuff, and buy bombs, or build Air Balloons, or trains.. it's hard to explain, but it's really fun...

There are different worlds, for example, in a temperate climate it's just like mining gold/coal/rocks, but if you pick something like magic world, then you get a different type of guy that can cast magic, but to use magic you need mana, so you mine crystals instead of gold, or if you pick sky islands you have to build bridges so you can get enough space to build stuff.. For most scenarios the goal is just get x amount of settlement points, and you get points by building things, researching, selling things, ect. Just try it, and take the tutorials, it's a really fun game.

If you know someone to use multiplayer with, you can have melee combat scenarios, where you can reasearch different type of flints (bombs) or make a hot air balloon and rain down hell from the sky, and burn down their house, I have yet to try multiplayer because of my dial-up, but with the version I have there are demos of it, and it looks pretty cool..

You have to use things like windmills to power your sawmill (wind needs to be blow your windmill or else no power..), so you can cut down trees to make wood, and you can sell that wood, or make a new house with it, or instead of a windmill for power, you can build a power plant which makes coal into power, and you can upgrade your main base from a wood cabin, and build a stone cabin which is stronger (Lightning strikes or meteors can blow up your house), or even make a castle..

Here are some pics I took while playing...

Main Menu - You can pick which scenarios to play I opened the "Worlds" directory, but there are about 75 different scenerios you can play..
Temperate Climate - This is me mining for gold with flint-stones to blast the gold free. I dug a tunnel to the gold vein..
Arctic - I have one of my guys diving for fish so I can sell them for money at my base..
Sky Islands - Really hard level, you've got to make a settlement on this..

There are alot more different types of levels and things..

Ancient bump.

I started playing this. Vegeta had mentioned it to me, so I downloaded it and I'm liking it a lot. I can't wait to play coop with Vegeta if we get around to it and he wants to. Not so interested in the competitive game mode types, but the cooperative yes I am.

Clonk Endeavour is a free download now, from clonk.de

Clonk is one of the greatest freeware games out there in a style all its own, but it is very frustrating at times, and requires lots of patience. Either you love it or you hate it.

Though hilarious moments are to be had by all in multiplayer.

I just redownloaded it and I'll be giving it another try. :D
It's somewhat relaxing to play.

Yea, I like it because there is no rush, you go at your own pace, and it makes things relaxing, because you don't have to beat the clock (unless you're mining and it's raining. I always hate the rain, atleast with snow/ice you can shovel it away..)

I got faster internet now if anyone wants to play co-op (No vs... yet..)

RELAXING!? NO RUSH, AT YOUR OWN PACE!?!?!?!

Tell that to me as I was playing the Volcano level of the keyboard tutorial.

Jesus ****ing christ, scariest and most frustrating shit ever.

Has anybody played both Clonk Endeavour and the newer Clonk Rage and can tell me more than what their list says, on how much better improved it is over clonk Endeavour?

They never really remake their games, just minor details that don't matter. Just play Endeavour and download the expansions.

Oh yea, who here plays with the mouse? I used to play like that (when clonk planet was first released) and found the keyboard MUCH easier once you get used to it. Just a note. I used keyboard near the end of Planet, and all of Endeavour.

And for the record. Try to set up a successful acid selling business in the acid world. YOU CAN EVER FIND SOME DAMN FLAT GROUND!

Also - Raz, if you so inclined to eh.. 'obtain' full version of clonk rage, check you PM's. I didn't get it yet, but since it's so 'easy' to obtain, I think I'll just go for it anyways, and get Rage.

Me and vegeta were playing a game on Clonk Endeavour, and it almost halved the fps, as if we were playing in slow motion or something. Everything went so much slower.

Is there any way to fix this or is this just bad network coding?

I spent a very enjoyable 6 and a half hours, not to mention the times I saved and loaded on the Desert map. There was no oil though, and I had to move my operations under ground as the meteor strikes were way commonplace. So commonplace in fact that they completely devastated the terrain and kept destroying all my stuff above ground.

Once I got underground, using my trusty catapult I ****ing obliterated just about everything in quite an efficient manner I might add, from below rather than above, since so much of the shit required explosives... very few soft materials other than sand and dirt. And yet, not a speck of oil. I was very disappointed. Even managed to get all the water up into a trusty little reservoir at the surface. the tunnel I dug for it managed to be almost the exact volume for it all! I was proud about that.

This gif shows in a circular fashion me displaying the map. Going from the left, up to the top left, to the top right, down to the bottom right, and back to the left.

Maybe we can get a game going later on today, I'll redownload it... weird to hear about FPS issues online though.

Also, apparently the free version of Endeavour comes with all the add-ons.

When you say get a game going, are you talking about coop or the competitive? I only know how to play coop right now, and know nothing about battling other players. heh.
