Clothes

Murder and Genocide are not fashionable, no one would wear Hitler, Stalin or Ho Chi Minh shirts, so where Che shirts? Because the Hippies wore them in the 60's and 70's, that's why, and because Hippies are considered "fashionable".

Exactly my point... they wear it because its "retro fashion" not because they like che (most probably don't know who he was).

Pants as in underwear or trousers? I thought Australian's spoke a derived version of the Queen's English, not a derived version of American English which is a derived version of the Queen's English.

Pants as in trousers, slacks, long-leg-covering-things :) We say "pants" here a lot.

Reagan trying to get them to resist communist takeover isn't quite anywhere the same as Che personally executing children.
Well, it depends which side of the ideological fence you're coming from. And besides, how is it any better for Reagen simply because he didn't do it in person.

Ah, the propaganda did and still does work. Wonderful.

Doesn't matter which side of the fence you're on, the propaganda will tell you the other side is evil.

Truth is, every government has their fair share of deceit. And the people buy into it so easily.

some people talk about it, some make jokes, some sing about it, some wear a t-shirt about it, but few actually do something about it

Contras and such had a good mission with some things being done wrong by bad people. Reagan trying to get them to resist communist takeover isn't quite anywhere the same as Che personally executing children.

let's not try to justify terror groups here because the Contras committed atrocities against civilians. Btw I havent been able to cross check your accusation that Che murdered children ...doesnt seem to be any record of it besides the usual knee-jerk right wing "news"sites ...I've checked the CIA declassified database on che and all I find is references to Che's overseeing of executions of the former ruling class ..no children. BTW I dont know where you're getting the idea that I'm justifying what he did ..but I do find it ironic that you gloss over your own governments criminal role in south/central america during the same period as che ...che killed 500 the US killed far far more

I find it funny that you would use children to further your argument ...funny that when that madeline albright quote comes up you try to justify it or write it off as unintentional

anyways back on topic .... since we're talking about Che's face on a t-shirt ..here's a good article about the myth/legend behind Che from Time's Top 100 of the 20th century

I've never agreed with the Albright quote and have always disagreed with the sanctions, and I've said that in previous posts where you posted it, too. For as long as I've been old enough to have a grasp on the situation I've been in favor of an Iraqi liberation, and I believe in 1991 the job should've been finished.

That story about Che was told by Pierre San Martin, who was jailed by him and said what Che did in an El Nuevo Herald article

Another gem from that link

'In the mid 1960s Fidel and your charming T-shirt icon set up concentration camps in Cuba for, among many others, "anti-social elements" and "delinquents." Besides Bohemian (Haight-Ashbury, Greenwich Village types) and homosexuals, these camps were crammed with "roqueros," who qualified in Che and Fidel's eyes as useless "delinquents." '

I realy love the ATF one man! :D The diversity one is neat to.

Here's a pic of a shirt I have on right now. It is pro-gun, and very "quiet". Not to mention stylish. ;)

(It's not the first set of T-shirts, but the 2nd ones..the ones that remind you of "cK"(Calvin Klein))

C.H.

You want a kickass t-shirt to make a poltical statement? Use the one I bought(this isnt the place I bought mine, nor exactly how mine is. mine is on white t-shirt, much larger image)... and the one that Homer Simpson wears.

Excuse me americans...

<gasp> How did you know?

DUN DUN DUN!

Added that one to cart thanks Raziaar!

Try to find a better version of it. Should be lots of websites out there that stock it, various sizes etc. get one on the shirt you want, the right size.

Oh... look at the sig I made using the image from the simpsons... for americans army videogame when it first came out. I had then since used it for the bfnation.net forums as my username there, Phrenzy.

People calling trousers pants is utter pants and should be stopped immediately :rolling: :).

Grr, the ad on the top of this page is for "the Che store"

These people simply sicken me. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future for it to be the ultimate fashion to emblazen Mao or Hitler's image on merchandise.

Wow, I see it too, kind of ironic.

Woot! Mine was chosen <dances a happy dance>
I got the ones in the first post, too, these were just my fave things. I won't be affording anything for a while, splurging is fun, hehe.

Does any of the rightwinger shirts say "git r done"... because I'd think your message would be lost without that. Just a shame all those shirts are more likely than not made in taiwanese sweat shops lmao

I have a Mao t-shirt too. Except that was bought for me.
...AND I saw "Hitler" wine in Venice. Alongside Mussolini wine. It was probably all the same red-coloured piss in a bottle with different labels on. It was next to Che wine, Marx wine and Bob Marley wine. Graves, rolling, etc.

I have a "MacLenin's" T-shirt (like MacDonald's but with Lenin in the logo) it says "The party is over!"

Also got some Chinese propaganda T-shirt, translated it says "Together we can fight SARS"

I love crappy merchandise, me.

well, as far as political shirts go, i like this. my tees are usually cool, or funny. I haven't worn shirts that try and provoke people. I would never wear a Che shirt. Sure, it's chic now, but most people are stupid/ignorant of his history.

yeah, when i purchase it I expect having to explain the humor to people.

well I'm not american so I had to think of which amendment was the second ...also I'm not a gun lover/owner/nut so I'm not all that versed in gun ummmm rights ...anyways that said, I'm sure the average american would have no problem gettting the message behind that t-shirt

I wore mine to school once. Most people didn't have a clue, although one person said "Isn't that Castro?"
Partial credit.
But then in Sixth Form (age 16-18) I got asked if it was Hitler... What!?

By the way, kirov - I wanna see your SARS shirt :D
