well, why don;t you post some pics then!?

What do u guys think about the fact that there aren't any medpacks around? It works like this: when u get shot too much your screen get a red haze and you have to take cover to recuperate again. It works kinda intuitive and I like it.

But I have a bigger penis.

That Thompson model is terrible, it gets all tiny in the front. I haven't played the demo yet though.

post screens jagass

I have everything on high and the demo runs very smooth through all sections.

I loved my first run through and I'm definitely gonna pick this up when it comes out. Smoke and explosions look absolutely sweet.

I took a bunch of screens.

Enjoy.

Very beginning, cool heat effect on the horizon.

Travelling with a few troops into town

Artillery is dropping on the town

Just as we get off the trucks, an MG42 opens up on us

Firefight while flanking the MG42

There's no health bar so this is what happens when you are low on hp

One of our objectives on the beach

Sexy smoke

Barrage coming in

Like I said...sweet explosions

MG42's can destroy some things :p

Victory! Drinks all around!

Played it. It's pretty short and it isn't very great. Just like CoD. No ragdolls and no physics whatsoever. It seems like they brought nothing new to the table except a whole lot of bump mapping. Seriously, everything is bump mapped but the desert part where you enter the mission has no foliage at all. It's just barren. Not even a shrub.

It has been consolized. When you walk up to certain ledges, you have the option to press space in order to climb up on it. Reminds me of Socom and Ghost Recon 2 and all of those console games. All of the fighting is focused in a pretty small area.

I thought that it was about the same as the first but with way better graphics. I was somewhat dissapointed to tell the truth, but that's just me.

Ragdolls != Realistic

Ragdolls are for fun, variety of animated deaths are for realism.

I like that they aren't using ragdolls. The novelty of physics and ragdolls wore off a long time ago for me...

Until a game comes along with completely destructable environments I don't care if it has physics or not.

The sense of battle and action definitely has been ramped up for this game and that's all I wanted.

You can't polish a turd. Actually, you can, obviously :)

Any game that uses only one of the two is not realistic. If you die instantly from something (like a large bullet to the head), you're not going to be doing anything that requires a death animation. Conversely, if you get shot in the gut and bleed to death a ragdoll just won't be able to pull it off. Then, there are situations where elements of both are necessary for the character to react realistically. I can't wait until games start dynamically doing stuff like in the naturalmotion videos in real-time. That would kick ass.

It's possible to do good ragdolls. In medal of honor pacific assault, an enemy will go into a death animation, and if the animation is interrupted by an object or gets shot again, they will turn into ragdolls.

it was short, but fun as anything, i'll be getting the game when it comes out... it's like COD, only prettier, and I like that... and it looked awesome

I remember seeing that natural motion stuff a while back. It'd be nice to see stuff like that in games.

You're right, but most games don't mix ragdolls and animations and ragdolls look silly like 80%...so for now I prefer good animations.

The demo was sooo awesome. Well, despite the lack of frikkin ragdolls! The smoke effects were sooo amazing, even though I think they're 2d sprites.

The game played excellent! It's not hard on performance, but still gives detail.

I was first to get the demo @ Fileplanet! Hurrah!

Teh SUN burns me eyes!

MEDIC!

Ahh beautiful smokes

Water aint that special though =(

50 Cent aint shit compared to this dude. Shot through the door, ouch!

plays/feels just like cod, exactly what i wanted.

i'm happy/impressed and will certainly buy it.

another rushed game that I dont have to empty my wallet on, good

though i'l get the demo and judge it for myself.

There's something about that post that's so annoyingly ignorant, so stupidly said, I can't really find a word for it. Not really hipocrite or ironic, it's just so dumb.

1 : Dude this pizza is ****ing nasty
2 :You haven't even tasted it.
1: Yeah I'll eat a slice and judge for myself

That demo was crap.

Bare in mind i hated the first game, i was hoping Cod2 would be a bit more than just mowing down mindless drone enemies.

I wasn't expecting much from CoD 2, but the demo was enough to get me excited :) It looks much better in action than in screenshots, and it still plays like CoD.

This is why i want lost coast :bounce: I played this demo about 5 or 6 times and i could still play it, it looks SO good, and for a next gen game runs rather well. The smoke amazes me, As does the models. Any way, as i was saying this is why i want lost coast, even though its 10-15 min i could play it over and over and not get bord. Hell, i still play the FEAR demo like one time a day.

The demo was brilliant :) I loved the first CoD as it was really intense and about the only game that emotionally moved me at the end :) try it yourself and see how you feel reclaiming the motherland- lol

Yeah, I don't give a **** about technological / graphical advancements...
I just want a good game to come around now and then.

And this looks like one of em.
Feels like CoD1 with sexier graphics, and I love that.
I personally think ragdolls are over-used / over-rated.
As soon as you seen an enemy drop down, and sit there with their feet twitching and their head the other way around, and their arms clipping through themselves... It just kills the effect.

Static-animation deaths are fine, and do their job well.

its great, it does feel just like CoD :D, the multiplayer should be great, really looking forward to it, infact id rather spend my money on this than DoD:s simply because I want the single player campaign, I can get enough MP fun from the source engine with CS, DM, Gmod and other mod's.

meh started downloading and then quit, looks good but doesnt look good enough to risk my college account for:p

Was thinking of downloading this, but... I got DOD Soruce, doubt it'll beat DOD Source for me

hmm just finished it, not bad althought just feels like a graphical update, everything bumpmapped like people said(other than that not mindblowing), no new gameplay features, they removed sprint? or did i just miss it? no ragdolls i dont mind but atleast they coulda done sumit about clipping bodies...legs falling through walls, ugh...:|

But it is! Now you can mow down REALISTICALLY LOOKING mindless drone enemies! \o/

I think the AI consists of a bit more than just mindless drones. Read the preview in the 'Shooter' issue of PC Gamer(US) and pay attention to the discussion of the AI constantly out-flanking the editors and such. I have a feeling the game will be much more impressive than this very short demo.

Space Invaders had mindless drones--their movement had nothing to do with your actions. Pac-Man had more AI than that!

hahahaha that actually made me and my friend laugh out loud, yeah i'm pretty stupid :)

I was sooooo looking forward to this game for ages, but having just played it, i'm not so sure.

Playing the demo, the gameplay is identical to CoD1. The hud is also unchanged. The textures are nicer in gun detail, but the low res scenery textures and generic bump mapping when you get close up to stuff is old-tech, tired and totally unnecessary. Nice character detail with realistic faces though, but the plastic hands still let them down. Bad clipping and no physics are another step backward, but what really leaped out at me was the lack of character shadows. I mean, wtf? a fps with no character shadows? come on.
Nice smoke effects, though.

In short, the demo I just played is so similar to the first game it was like playing an expansion - these guys have done very little to improve on old technology, i'd be mighty pissed if I was publishing it.

edit - oh yeah, forgot the AI - enemies that throw grenades a lot more doesn't make them smarter. The fact that they kept throwing them at the indestructible wooden box I was hiding behind in fact makes them pretty damn stupid.

Well, I knew what to expect, so I wasn't surprised. Linear and boring. Pass.

well put, pretty much sums up my thoughts about it, definately not blown away although i'll prolly still give it a go when released depending on reaction/reviews...

Errr... It reboots my computer immediately when im supposed to get the first actual frame of the game. Flashes a bluescreen and then bang. Any suggestions?

its just a demo just wait intil the game comes out to judge it
