CoD hacker

Allow me to direct you to this sticky on the official Steam forums! Sally forth and conquer!

brb callin gabe

The sticky suggests contacting the server admin.

Get it? MW2 got rid of them...

*Edit* On a more serious note, there's not a whole lot you can do as VAC has to be able to detect the hack, and there's no server admins to ban hackers.

You just gotta unfortunately deal with it. I think this problem is going to get much much worse as the game progresses since cheating is easy, and it seems VAC hasn't picked up on any of it yet. I suppose we just have to give it time.

Impossible, everyone knows IWnet stopped cheating forever! :|

and you're also gonna have to record a demo to show proof.

oh well :( at least now u guys what to expect when playing with that weaboo.

He should be banned simply for the fact he likes Naruto.

Eww.

Don't be alarmed.

It's IW's goal to ban all hackers.

What's even more sad is that pirates are able to play on legit VAC secured servers. Another fail by VAC.

No, they are not. The pirated version does not work in any multiplayer mode other than Co-op.

EDIT: OOps, I stand corrected, it appears as though there is now nothing stopping a pirated copy being fully playable online.

As far as I know, the main thing about VAC, is it allows players steamID to be perma banned, but I always assumed the actual cheating was picked up by he admins. I guess I was wrong about that.

In other news, it seems (according to this video) that a prototype dedicated server has been made by the community, that still counts as a ranked match with IW.net..

Personaly I dont care enough about MW2's multiplayer to risk a steam banning. But it does bite kinda hard when pirates may end up theoreticly having access to Dedicated Servers while the paying customers dont wanna risk it.

i'm glad...but i'm still not playing it

Until Valve can actually make it so that pirates can't play on legit VAC secured servers VAC is useless. VAC works on banning your account on VAC secured servers but if you are using a blank account with no games on it then it's no deterrent. I've noticed this happening alot in Left4Dead. It's a real shame because Valve knows of this problem and made an half-assed attempt to fix it the loophole then promptly broke it so that pirates could game online again.

One of the fabulous reasons I play on GON.

!admin <game> <server number> <playername> <offence>

If only.

The hacking aspect of PC gaming is the main reason I prefer multiplayer on the consoles.

It's not as easy to use aimbots on XBL or PSN.. If it's even possible at all?

That's where the glitching community comes in.

Indeed. You should see the spots they find. God damn. Most of them are 12 year olds that see it on youtube. For instance. There is a Javelin glitch going around. The second you shoot the person with the Javelin and they die, they explode. Everyone in a 20-30 foot radius is killed. It is VERY annoying.

Good thing I reached level 70 and stopped playing MW2 before that glitch became prevalent :p

Anyway, yes, glitching exists on consoles, but it does on PC too.

HACKING however does not exist on modern consoles, but it does exist on the PC.

To me, I'd rather only have to deal with glitchers, than have to deal with both glitchers and hackers.:)

But to each woman her own.

It's kind of sad to hear about people using glitches or hacking in games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 because it's just so easy to get kills without them. If everyone just played normally and did not hack, there would be no need for anti-cheating systems like VAC. Unfortunately, this is not so.

Who.. cares?@unozero

Maybe stop playing bad games?

So can we say that the rampant hacking and poor anti cheat protection for MW2 is a flaw and that you should enjoy it despite that?
