PC - 8800gts.
Need to justify my GFX card's existence.

Enjoy your autoaim, thumb sticks are simply not suited to the task of aiming.

For all the years I was playing GE, PD, TS, Halo etc I acyually thought I was aiming?!

People are still getting snobby about PC and console controls?

Here's a tip: Go outside.

I'll probably have to go with 360 due to requirements, but I really want to play it on PC. The aiming in the beta seems way too fidgetty for a game that demands total accuracy.

Kind of curious how they're going to do the online service for PC though, with the persistent "characters" and levelling and everything. I keep picturing something like Relic Online for CoH, which would be bad bad bad for an FPS, especially one like this that's so latency intensive.

People don't seem to like it when I shoot them out there.

Works for Battlefield...

You where, just not as effectively as if you used another control method. Of all people you should know this is a silly argument and console controls fail to meet the demands of competitive players. Then your online experience is controlled by MS (read: no server side mods). It's all well and good if it's a game primarily designed for consoles i.e. Halo but hey another group tried to do that with COD 3 and failed hard.

I don't even like COD I'm just saying the MP component isn't going to be so great on the console.

/edit I mean if you're a gaming enthusiast you should be playing the game on the system it's best designed for. Hence why I own consoles so I can stay away from dodge console to PC ports.

Oh, and PC for me. If I had a PS3/360 and there was actually any real reason to get it on a console rather then the PC, I would.

You're just talking preferences here. I've played in pc clans for years and years and know full well the benefits of a m&k setup. Generally I do prefer to play online shooters on the pc, but am also fine with a pad and have enjoyed many console fps. You're right that console fps aren't as flexible when it comes to competitive play (the only reason i chose TF2 for the pc), but they can certainly be played at a high level. The majority of people don't care about this at all.

At the end of the day it's down to how you want to play. I'm simply leaning towards the 360 version because my friends who are getting the game will play it on the 360 and because I found CoD2 to be more enjoyable on the 360 - the slower, more tricky aiming reduced the pace of the game and made the experience that much more realistic, tactical and tense. On the pc it was pretty much just rushing tdm stylee which got boring fast.

Believe it or not, some games benefit from having to take a measured and slower aproach to gunplay. I like carefully lining up my rifle, leading the shot, taking my time. Is it really hard to understand why that can be more satisfying than an easy twitch headshot and more suited to certain types of fps?

Pretty much.

EDIT: I'm not even going to get into this argument, actually. It's not worth arguing with people who can't even grasp the basic concept of moving your thumbs to the pace of the game. I'm glad I don't have to work with PC snobs in the workshops - things might get messy with the equipment.

Quoting Warbie is as far as I'm gonna go in this. It always ends up with console players saying that joysticks are fine, and PC players either reluctantly agreeing or becoming elitist assholes.

I hope some of my friends get this game, I'd hate to be the only one I know on Live.

My problem isn't with the gaming interface (though, granted I prefer M&K and tend to pull an A-Team when using a joypad). Indeed some games probubly play far better on Console than they do on PC precicely because of the controls. Its the lack of modability.

However, as CoD 4 will have a BF2 style persistant stats with unlocks and whatnot type system, that goes out of the window rather. It will basically mean that there will be fewer mods played by less people, just like with BF2.

With the change in dynamics that modern weapons will bring to CoD (ie everyone won't be running around with 1 shot kill bolt actions) this will probubly be more suitable for Consoles than the older CoD games.

In conclusion, if I get this, it will be on PC. But the idea of console isn't entirely disagreeable, in part at least because of the inevitable reduced number of mods.

Pc for me, was getting it on 360 but i might have some friends playing on PC.

Not sure if I'll even get it (just heard about it from the hands-on on IGN yesterday and sounds like it could possibly be cool), but if I do it'll be for PC of course.

Now that I have one I might get this game on PS3.

Im still getting it for PC. Reasons: 1. The multiplayer maps are bigger and better 2. The demo ran relly good on my machine, multiplayer should run even better as theres no AI for the CPU to calulate

PC

It's always better on a PC. Skinning, more maps, better online play, more players, bigger maps, better graphics, etc etc etc.

This is such an easy choice. I laughed when I saw TF2 on the 360. Sure, it's good for a console, but my friend who bought a 360 who previously played it on the PC said he regrets doing so. It was laggy, could only handle half the players, and the majority of the players were a bunch of tards. He now uses my roommates computer to play.

Yes, I am a PC elitist. I don't care either. I don't like my games watered down for a bunch of console tards. Zero Punctuation's review on Bioshock pretty much summed it up. I'm still waiting for a cross platform game in which all platforms can play in the same server.

The only thing a 360 has an advantage over the PC in the controller category, is the trigger. It's satisfying pulling a trigger compared to a click, so someone please make me a mouse with a trigger.

TF2 on 360 is fine. I've played on both platforms and it was identical. More importantly, it was fun on both accounts. I haven't the time to care about anything else, Valve already achieved my primary ideal for gaming straight away.

Oh, and if you thought Bioshock was watered down for the consoles then I don't even know what game you are playing. Bioshock was deep and detailed as hell. That said, you're the guy who whines about it not being able to run on his PC, right? Sucks to be you.

/me goes back to playing Bioshock smoothly on 360

Who mentioned what was and what wasn't? :p

I found Bioshock to be very interesting and in my opinion it's up there, alongside games like HL2, with one of the best, and most well presented, plot/storylines in a game.

He couldn't have said it better :D

EDIT: I'm not even going to bother. Arguing against PC elitists is pointless as hell, and as far as I know you haven't even played or finished Bioshock because you're constantly posting about how your PC won't run it or whatever, so this argument is far beyond pointless, what with you following in the words of some reviewer and his negativity between not having an inventory(!!!!!!) and... well, that's your only backup for claiming Bioshock was watered down.

Also, you can't define the lag a game gets. PC games lag, console games lag. It's either the servers problem or the hosts, it's a mandatory thing in games to get a laggy match. Can't control it.

Back on topic, I played the COD4 singleplayer demo the other. It was okay, but it's just COD except in the now. Nothing special.

Played the CoD4 PC demo at a friend's and wasn't highly impressed with it vs 360. So I'll probably grab or just rent it on the Xbox.
