New unnannounced mod project for HL2.

The project consists of a single & multiplayer TC for HL2.
Once the single player is in place, the multiplayer should be fairly easy to adapt. But depending on the prototype, we might start doing the multiplayer part first, this issue needs addressing with the coder.

Only need a coder now to get a prototype rolling as soon as HL2 is out the door and ready for modability. Level designers, sound engineers and modelers/texture artists will get in on the project later on, once concept art is complete.

Concept artist would be needed as soon as possible in the project.

The game consists mainly of 1 on 1 battles (maybe up to 3 on 3) in small-medium arenas with lots of open spaces. No firearms involved, only upgradable spells. More people would probably be allowed on server and the game would be played in a 'hot seat' manner. Non battling players would be kept occupied by another game mechanic. Expect epic battles, this is what we'll be going for. Can't release much more information for now.

I live in Montreal, Canada (-05:00 EST) and am available pretty much all around the clock. Contact me on MSN or through email for more details. Examples of your coding work would be appreciated. I will be taking care of game design along with my team member's suggestions. Aside from that, I will dable around with level design and modeling while the prototype is being made. Once we get into full-production, I will only take a supporting role, most likely on level design and concept art and direction. I've studied in Game Design at Centre NAD in Montreal and am very serious about this project. If you have a passion for games and a talent in coding, I need you. I might also code a little bit down the line once I'm done reading my current book. For now, be aware the position I'm looking to fill up is that of Lead Coder.

I wouldn't want anyone to perceive my implication in the mod as being a simple 'idea guy' asking for a coder. I repeat I am serious and here is a link to my latest work.

That link should bring you to 10 screenshots of my latest work, using UT2k3. All models are original works and I did the textures too (not saying it out of pride, they're so-so but they got the job done at the time, I can texture but I'd rather not).

And while this is not a requirement, a good way of communication we could use (dunno if other teams are doing it) would be voice chat over Xbox Live for those who have it.

My gamertag is BlowMuP for anyone who's looking to get a hold of me.

Here's a bit more on the game, since I've been previously told I wasn't giving out enough info on the game.

There is a fine line between giving out too much and just giving enough of an idea to interest people. I still need to get that down. I could give out a generic description and just tell people that I'm looking at creating epic 'DragonBallz'-type fights but that might be inducing people in error. Reason is because I don't even know what DragonBallz is all about and I couldn't care less. I just know they have huge epic battles and that's the type of gameplay I'm striving to create. I'm also avoiding mentionning it because I want to avoid fanboys actually coming on the team in hopes of turning it into DBZ. That said, they are more than welcome if they just like the idea, just were not using the DBZ's IP.

The single-player part would involve a quest to become the best of those 'duelists' (the two players who battle 1-on-1). Going from city to city and learning new spells or feats. The 'duels' themselves are a hugely popular sport in this universe. So basically you play a sports athlete on the rise (more fans recognize you as you become better at what you do). Etc.
