well, the colossus mod currently consists of 1 modeller/semiskinner(me),

1 coder (Oldfart)

and 1 webguy(BurN).

now we need more people, so let me tell you about the mod.

its loosely based on the story Colossus, wich was a A.I. that took control over the earth in 2010. (se movie colossus )

this mod happens 19 years later, humans in uncontrolled parts of the world have built weapons to fight the soldiers of colossus, and colossus finds itself in a dilemma, use nukes, and loose its own soldiers, or wage conventional war, and teach the humans a lesson in what superior i.q. can produce.

Its war between humans, and androids\robots.

multiplayer only in the first versions, maybe a singleplayer later.

we have the plan set like this: to develope war between 2 sides in such a way that it can be played in different ways every time.

u use score to build addons, and money is made by resycling metal, plastic and such, to build the weapons, using nanobots.

a rifle costs X nanomass, while a tank costs XXXXX amount of nanomass.

im no genious in math, so someone smarter than me can set up a balansesheet.

weapons that are upgradeable with money, or in our mods case, nanomass.

now since hl2 still isnt released yet, there may seem pointless for some to mod for it, but brainwork is brainwork. models are models, skins are skins, anyone that joins the mod gets a equal say in design, wich is discussed in our current forums.

but since the previous webmanager dissapeared (literally it seems, with all our webrelated secrets) we may have to shange website and forum to gain control again. what im saying is im looking around for a alternative webhost.

as for the basics of the gameplay, it will be onfoot and in wehicles, all depending on the map.

maps will be as big as possible in the hl2 engine, as i get a kick out of big maps with lots of freedom.

full deformability is a desired thing, but we will see what the engine can handle before desiding on it.

also another idea the team has discussed, is bots that are run from client , to add to the ambience of the mod. like civilians so to speak. or autonomous robots. wehicles driving around like in grand theft auto. things that will add atmosphere.

that would add a factor to the game, when you and your (possibly) controlled bots attack targets.

weaponry will be diverse, but we are still not sure about what main type of weaponry that will be around in 2029.

some say lasers and plasma, some say rockets and better bullets. i say both

the mod now has a skinner too. but we need more ppl.

yes but this is only 25 years into the future, so the robots wont be superadvanced.
 
no. chessmess came back after a long wacation, and has started helping out on the new webpage, it should be done in 4 days.

I'd like to help out, but I really don't have any technical skills. But I can write storylines and stuff. wrote for one mod that was for utk2003 so I have some experience. Let me know if your interested.
 
storylines eh? well, sure we could use someone to do some storylines.

drop by our forum, and shout out your name, and that you want to help out, and ill tell em to give you temporary membership, so that you can access the hidden forums. we have the most of the stuff we want accomplished written down there.

maybe u can help us designs some maps aswell, and we are thinking of making the game into a movie also, sinse its story has so mush potencial. maybe u want to help out on the movieplot aswell?
