Combat Missions

You know the show on NBC and FX called Combat Missions where Marines , seals and Deltas "fight" for money ? I saw an episode today, apart from looking fake, could you guys tell me what the hell are those guys supose to be shooting and how are they supose when they are dead ?

I have heard of a rifle attachment that you use along with a special vest that is linked to a monitoring program on a pc that allows you to see who shot you and where it hit you. Not sure what its called though, but its quite sofisicated i think.
