Combine Soldier Costume

Hey everyone! (yes, I am a n00b.)

I'm starting work on a Combine Soldier costume for Halloween this year, and one thing that would really make things a ton easier would be the ability to export the model (with meshes) to a readable 3d format, so I can spin it around and check out his gear from every angle. Is there some easy way to export this model?

Thanks

i dont entirely understand what your saying.
do you mean you want to decompile a HL2 model to use in a 3D app?

so a 3d app like Milkshape or 3DS max can view raw HL2 models, I would have assumed they'd need conversion

and yes, I have HL2

and you just want to VIEW them? not edit them or do anything else with them right?

yeah, in steam go play games->source sdk->model viewer

and open the combine soldier model (in the root directory)

Are you maing that out of clay...?
An easier way (well, maybe not easier, but y'know) is to take what you have there, and finish it up, but don't finish it or poaint it or anything, get a big sheet of plastic, heat it up in the oven a bit, put it all on a vacuum table, and vacuum-form yourself a light, plastic mask. For mroe details, do a google search for making stormtrooper costumes.

Yeah, I was planning on using a fiberglass cast or something, but vacuum formed plastic would probably look better, I'd just have to figure out how to get the lenses in again.

Or, you could buy a Russian gas mask. They actually look like that.
