? I, Doug Stanhope, am offering you, Bristol Palin, the sum of 25,000 dollars so that you can abort your child and move out of that draconian home. I have also set up a PayPal link so that others around the world can help increase this amount to ease the burden of starting out on your own at such an early age.

I was once in a similar situation where I?d accidentally impregnated a girl and she had to make that same fateful decision that now faces you. It was easy for her - she didn?t have a fascist, oligarch parent, the entire Republican Party or the sneering eyes of the Christian Right to contend with, much less a daft, puppet boyfriend who?s just waiting for the cameras to stop rolling so he can bolt like a gazelle.

lol, pretty funny in a detached sort of way ...also very controversial and most likely cause a stir in the palin/religious right circle, but who cares? it's really up to the parents (bristol, unlucky kid who got her pregnant) but at least this comedian voices that Bristol has a choice, unlike her own parents who gave her no choice

I have mixed feelings on this

On one hand I definitely see his point, if she doesn't want to keep the pregnancy the pressures on her to keep it are enormous.

On the other hand it sends an odd message when a comedian offers money for an abortion.

On another hand, if we take this guy at face value it's not so much a political statement than a genuine attempt to offer her a real choice.

But on my final hand, if you read his website on the matter there is a layer of sardonicism - like making a "Sarah J Palin Abortion Fund" or this picture:

At the end of the day though it's worth giving her a choice, assuming Palin really would throw her out of home (which would be an interesting political incident).
