On CSnation there is this guy who was in Seoul who played CS hands on, and I like his comments on the game because it isn't crammed full with yippy crap like "OMG CSS IS SO HAWT DOOD"

*this is not breaking news

I seriously thought the game was going to be better then he described it, especially the exaggerated physics and inability to jump onto barrels properly

Hopefully they will have all that stuff fixed soon

Wrong forum :)

I think the physics aren't exaggerated.
According to what he said, a can flew 2-3 meters when he ran into it.
In real life, if you put a can in front of your feet and use the same power you use to take one step on it, it'll fly more than 2-3 meters.

lol cans dont tend to fly about when i step on em. i think you mean to say kick?

btw how many feet is 2-3 meters? when i kick an empty pop can it flies about 6-7 feet.

It's about 6-9 feet - each meter is around 3 feet

There's a difference between a soda can and a oil barrel. Standing upright, running into a barrel even at a run won't make it fly into the air. It'll fall on its side and possibly roll around for a few feet. As for grenades, the barrels look odd in the explosion as a grenade explosion would tear apart or severely deform a barrel.

Games with fancy physics always exaggerate the effects, look at Deus Ex: Invisible War. You could throw wooden crates or a human corpse over a hundred feet in the air. It'll be a few years before physics are fully implemented to behave realistically.

watch the videos, when the player barely steps on a bottle, it flys, i dont think its meant to be that way unless the t or ct actually WANTS to kick it

2 meters doesnt = 17 feet barnacle you idiot. Its 6 - 7 feet.
Where did you pull 17 from?

I don't think the millions of other CS players do... Valve isn't stupid, they don't want CS: S to be a totally different game, or any different at all... Things like that can ruin a game. CS: S is fine.

About the kicking the can... yes, when you run up to a can and kick it... it will fly atleast 2m. As for stepping on it. Who cares? We don't need the can in the first place. You guys can't expect a game to be perfect. I am expecting CS: S to be just CS with better graphics and physics. That's all it needs... I wish I could see tfc in source though...

Where did you pull 17 from?

Easy.. You divide 6 by 3 then multiply it by the exact number of the sum (in effect doubling it) add the new sum to the original number that you divided. Taking this new number and give it an exponent of 3. Subtract 983 from that and you get 17. See it wasn't hard and I think it would be a common mistake! Don’t you?

And just to clear everyting up 2 meters is 6.56167979 feet. Also if you need to know what.. say 5 meters is or even 4.8 meters is.. just look at this easy to use guide.

To convert from meters to feet, simply multiply the meters by 3.28
To convert from feet to metters, simply multiply the feet by 0.31

i would have loved CS-S about 2 years ago now the hell with CS its old news..I want new mods and a new game

bring on HL2.

Errr. This guy wouldn't make a very good politician.

Politicians...never wannna be...never will...never love them :p

Anyway, if I knew that my impression was going to spread to all over ther world, I would consume a little more energy to be a good "political" writer. :p

I watched one of the Seoul movies and a player walked into a spare tire that was laying on the ground, and it flew a few feet

tires are pretty damn heavy, how can you say that isn't exaggerated.

same with barrels

One meter is 3,2808398950131233595800524934383 feet :p

Haha, I know what you mean, but thats not a good example since your basically a cyborg with pumped up strength in Deus Ex ;)
