dunno if you guys knew this but compusa has had a ad saying "30% off all PNY cards"

mainly to get rid of their old cards. but for the 6800U you can save a shitload.

@ 30% off.
6800U @ 500usd = 350usd (before tax)
6800GT @ 400usd = 280usd (before tax)

thats more than a bargin ;) thing is most of them will only offer this deal In the store (meaning in person and not online) and the cards must be in stock. many cusa's are saying they will be in stock 7/1/04 (july 1st).

the sale is in effect from 6/27 to 7/3 i beleive so you might want to hurry if you want a 6800 and are into saving cash.

people have already gotten this deal by going in and for doing "PRE PAY" tho some have called and said they will not do a preorder, and wont reserve. but if you go in the store and ask for pre pay, or go in when they have them in stock they really cant refuse. but just ask nicely.

again, dont ask for a raincheck, or reserve if you go in early. ask for "PRE PAY" if you go early.

heres were all of this started heh

you can check the compusa site and see a ad somewhere that says the 30% off on all pny cards. but i havent found a big picture of it. just click the "Check out our international ad" on the mainpage in the blue box and go threw the pages on the ad. youll see it.

btw dont reply if your gonna make fanboyish remarks because saving money is saving money.

good luck if you guys try this nice deal out. post back on what happens if ya can. :smoking:

PNY, that well heard of company. I'd recommend avoiding lesser-known companies, and getting either a first-hand nVidia card, or a well-known 3rd party one like Leadtek or Gainward.

yeah i would rather of had a BFG deal or even a x800 deal heh, but a deal like this is kinda hard to pass up heh. getting a 6800U for less than 9800xt's are going for on newegg. i might just go in tommorrow just as the doors open and get one. maybe keep it or sell it. ;)

PNY is well known in the states. They arn't as good as Leadtech or Gainward.
Better than Powercolor for ATI, IMO.

 If I get the chance I guess i'm going for the 6800, otherwise i'm sticking with the x800.
