I am building a computer for my roommate, but I am having a blue screen problem as soon as Windows loads. It first appeared when installing windows using his computer, the first phase went fine, but during the second phase actually inside windows, I got a very brief blue screen and a restart. I successfully installed windows when I plugged his HDD into my computer. Now with windows installed successfully, I put the HDD back into his computer and now I get to the windows loading screen, but just as it is almost finish (I assume) it blue screens and restarts again. I can't tell you what the error on the blue screen is because it flashes so briefly that even when I recorded it with a camera, the camera couldn't keep up. I do know that it is a stop code though.

The stats of the computer are as follows:
AMD X2 3800
Asus M2V motherboard
Evga 7600GS
2GB Kingston RAM
420W Antec power supply
Windows Vista Home Basic

I have eliminated for certain the graphics card, hard drive, and RAM, and I don't believe it is the motherboards fault. Is the problem I'm having symptomatic of either the CPU or the power supply?

dude you cant just switch a hard drive out to another pc. its possible that it doesn't recognize the chipset. you will need to reinstall windows on your friends pc. also you can try loading windows in safe mode

Oh dear your in for some fun, they are all new components which makes it that much harder to troubleshoot. My first guesses would be, RAM, Motherboard, CPU (in that order). You said you had eliminated RAM as the problem so I'd find a way to test the other two - or try to return them.
