Well.. not exploding, but it has a virus that only lets me get in any folder like 1/5 times... It puts up a dialog box with "Data Execution Prevention" (then I click "Do Not Send"), then another box, then another, then it closes explorer, and restarts explorer about 5 seconds later, closing everything. (except Firefox for some reason..)

So I burned all my important stuff to RW discs and put them to my backup 80 gig drive.. It was a untouched drive with XP in it, so I just put drives/music/stuff like that in it, no viruses were transfered (thank god), so I get to install my internet on that tomarrow, then I'll be set.. although since 5 other people use this, and only this drive, I have to switch drives every time I go on/off the computer..

Good Thing: I get a whole 80 gig drive to myself (games!)

Bad Thing: I have to shut off computer, unlock drive, slide it out, put other one in, lock it back up, turn on computer every time I go on.

Good Thing: My new (but old) drive starts up in like 45 seconds

Bad Thing: My old (but really old) drive starts up in like 10 minutes..

So right now I'm on this virus infected peice of crap, I can't even play games on this one, since the other one doesn't have internet there is no HL2 on it, just Doom 3, Halo, etc.. My old drive doesn't have a USB slot, so I can't just transfer the Valve folder files over to my good drive, so I'm basicly f*cked for HL2 *sigh*..

Viruses are stupid, and retarded nerds make them because they have no life. (I really needed to say that)

I just needed to go on this rant about my HD's and Viruses...

I would gladly format it, but like I said 5 other people use this f*cked drive, so I delete their shit, then I get knocked out..

better off getting your own pc or just doing a dual boot

Well back up all that stuff, might take awhile, but thats what I suggest.

You really think it's a virus?

I bet it's naaawwwt :p

And isn't Data Execution Prevention something to do with AMD cpus?

Whatever you're getting in the error messages, try copying the message and pasting it into google. Put " "s around it and hit search to see if anyone else has come across this problem and if they've solved it on another message board. I solve like 90% of my PC problems this way

**** those 5 other people, and tell them they have 2 days to remove their crap before its gone.

Thats what I did to my family.
