hi all,
For my newest model i will be makeing this concept art in 3d http://69.44.60.9/artbyfeng.com/sets/set_15.jpg by Feng Zhu. Its a very early WIP, been modeling for about 1 hour 45 min. I know there are a load of mess ups, and the lighting is also messed up, theres about 10 shadows for each object in all different direction, but im tired so ill fix tomorrow. So you ask me why am i posting this if i already know where i messed up, well i want to know if i have a good start. Im going to bed now so ill read all of the comments tomorrow morning and work on this project some more. Oh, and i changed a few things here and there, so its not EXACTLY like the concept, but its very close, i only changed very little details.
Thanks :)

I think it's a good start but you still have a lot to do...

Nice job so far. Good luck finishing it.

:)

Its nice looking so far.... but whats the poiint? hehehe

I supose you could model something in 3d to give a mapper a good idea of what you want to achieve. But still concept art in 3d is pritty much pointless unless you are just testing out drawn concepts that have already been done and you wish to see how they look in 3d.

Good job so far though, keep us updated

very nice

Looks like quite a challenge to model that picture.

Thanks for the comments everyone

Brazooka: Yes, i have a hell of a lot to do, i dont care how long it takes, as long as i finish it, im known to just stop a project half way in.

Dux: Thanks man :)

IchI: Im doing this moslty becuase i thought it was a awesome concept art, and it seemed like a good challenge to make it into 3d. Oh and btw, love your work over at corporate anarchy

ferd: Thanks :D

mrchimp: it sure is a challenge, thats why im doing it :)

errr, epyon... first, awesome work on that so far. Second, is your name tommy? haha... just wondering, maybe the name epyon is more popular than I knew of if you're not who i think you are.

It'd be even cooler to see you model the whole room (including the stuff that's "off camera") and then import it as a level for HL2.
I hope i have this model done before hl2 comes out :p

ok, i was going to post a render, but i decided not to. Im going to add more stuff first. I will post one at probably 8:45 EST time. That is if i dont get kicked off the computer...if i do, then ill post it tomorrow after school, 2:45 EST

Update: Finally, I added a lot of stuff, but its just the basic form of the stuff, meaning its not detailed, and that i might even remdel it, well here it is. Oh and yeah, that isnt going to be the final lighting. C&C
Thanks

hot damn dude, looking good, making it a part of an HL2 level shouldn't be too difficult form what i hear. If not and as much as i hate to say it, the style would look good in Doom 3.
