Concept artist

A tip would be to resize your image to something a bit smaller, like so:

i swear i replyed to this. anyway you need more practice before joining a team. the body is completely out of proportion and the folds in the cloth dont look very good. also what are those weapons hes holding they dont look liek any weapons ive ever seen. i suggest you practice copying from photos and pictures.

hey man thats pretty good although you need some work you got the basic down just work on the proportions and shading but wit enough practice you'll end up being really good. try reading about antonomy and attend some figure drawing lessons. another good idea is start workin out i know it sounds dumb but when you know how muscles look like and where they are you'll become really good at drawing it worked for me :D well thats al for now. by the way hhow old are you? dont worry about the weapons so much right now but later on oyu should. practice practice practice thats the best advice anyone can give you right now.

Haha thats the second time that I have seen you say that. Need to get a little more sleep or little more something. Or maybe more... :p

ofcourse man its not like youve really gone to classes and shit oyu just need to work on it a little more and get serious about it i have folder in my binder at school for just doodlind during my classes.

ummm i would say it isnt good enough to post here i dont think youll get any mod leaders contacting you.

very nice. looks a little bit out of proportion to me with the legs but maybe not.

what? 1 theres no such thing as overshaded. and two it is an excellent picture.

lol that came out wrong ? hes shading is inconsistant like wheres you light source man cmon lol

it came out fine. small amount of turbulance but nothing i cant handle. his shading is showing the folds in the cloth. the light source is coming from behine on the left.

if it was coming from the front left it would creat a shadow on his face and shoulder.

om lol your right i ment behind i read you post wrong lol hahaha omg i need sleep!

i love drawing it is very fun. find it realaxing actually i love seeing what i can come up with

As a concept artist you should be able to create realistic images of whatever the client's needs are, which means you need not only to be skilled at perspective/depth and light/values etc, but OUTSTANDING knowledge of anatomy and proportions, and not just for the ideal human body, but every kind of body there is; fat, skinny, extremely muscular, aged, etc. You also need to know animal anatomy, this is great for designing realistic aliens.

What if I asked you that I'm making a sci-fi game and I need designs for ships that don't look like anything else, would you be able to come up with something original? Maybe I want the ships to have designs reminiscent of 18th century trains and steamboat technology?

You need to know just how various types of clothes look. To be honest, you need to know as much as you possibly can learn, and this is why concept artists have huge reference libraries.

I think you're very good for a 15 year old, remind me of me a little bit at that age. Your sources of inspiration are obvious, but at the same time you've combined them with something new which is a very imperative skill when it comes to concept design.

Basically, to get better, practice practice practice. There's no short cut. But make sure you love what you do. It's tough at times but just do it if you feel you really enjoy those moments when you're drawing and you're really relaxing, maybe listening to some inspirational music, and create amazing worlds right out of your own mind. Few things in the world beat it.

I drew for about 5 years I think but have recently taken a break to get into making music and other projects. But it's hard not to get inspired to get into it again when you see professionals out there making a living on drawing kickass stuff.

I don't consider myself particulary good but mod teams seemed to consider my skill enough for some projects when I was approached by several mod teams. I've worked a little with about 3-4 HL2 mods.

Here's some of my work:

Sketches/Drawings:

A mod team leader wanted some really quick ideas on heavy versus light trooper designs and I had to come up with these in about 10-15 minutes:

I think you need a "little" more practice before anyone will take you seriously.

If you get to my standard http://img240.exs.cx/img240/3043/soldier20um.jpg
Then people will want you as a concept sketcher.

How many contracts have you had? That many? Wow. :p
