Connection failed after 4 retries

I always get that message whenever I try and connect to a server. The only thing new in my computer is that I installed an 8800gt. I could go to the main menu and then search for servers there and nothing comes up. But when I search for servers in steam, outside of TF2, the servers are there.

I haven't played TF2 in weeks now cause Ive been busy with school. But now that I have the time again I can't even connect.

Ive got no problems with CSS though. Its just TF2.

All I want for christmas... is to be able to play this game again! Steam/Valve support doesn't seem to wanna help me since Ive been waiting for a response from them for days now. You guys are my only hope, maybe.

This isn't a surefire way to fix it, but it fixes most of my server related issues.

Go to the your Steam folder, then into the config folder. In there (make sure Steam is not running) delete the serverbrowser.vdf and masterservers.vdf files. Then start Steam up again.

Try updating the video drivers, if thats the only thing youve changed.
