Conroe coming...

Just ordered me self a Asus P5W deluxe. A bit expensive, but its worth it. It overclocks like a beast ive heard :)

I'm getting the E6600 and a P5W motherboard, too. But how exactly do the processors handle overclocking? You know, stability-wise.

Any idea when the Nforce chipsets will be available for pre-order?

From that anandtech article
"NVIDIA has also shown Conroe chipsets, but they will not be launched for at least several weeks."
"ATI is also launching chipsets for Conroe. RD500, which supports dual X8 PCIe slots, is expected in early September."

Bleh, thanks. Guess i'll have to wait a few weeks to fully set up a new system :/

X-bit labs has their review up. This one is excellent, it has all the latest interesting cpus (all conroes and all amd X2s). The best I've read so far. Especially the last 3 pages. They contain some nice illustrations of what the Conroe excells at other than performance.

I read that review and it is pretty good. Simple, somewhat short and all the right info that people need. Plus they include all the CPUs and a nice little price graph at the end. ;)

....the pentium xe 965 (3.73GHz) is still selling for $999. haha
And there goes any reason why AMD should drop their FX prices.
