Console Query

Thinking about buying a 360 or PS3. Can you copy over movies from your PC to the console and watch it?

Any help is appreciated.

Do you mean via LAN, or by burning CDs/DVDs?

LAN, USB or any other way to transfer files. Does either console support .avi?

You can play WMVs on the 360 off a USB stick, or a CD. You can't play AVIs though.

You can stream stuff to the 360 via media centre extender. Some people make plug-ins that work for DivX etc. but you need to have a PC with media centre edition of XP i think, or vista. Look here.
