It is basically a survival mod where the outnumbered team of marines has to survive 3 minute rounds against the contaminated zombies.

The setting is futuristic and will be reflected in the skinning, modelling, sound and in the building of the maps.

To create the effect of having the small team of marines being surrounded and having to make a last desperate stand, the zombies can respawn if they die and if one of the marines gets killed by a zombie they become a zombie too (they get infected basically).

The marines must rely on the special abilities of each individual class to survive and hold back the zombies. For instance the technician can set up sentry guns (like in Aliens) and the explosives expert can lay down detonation packs.

The tactical element will be achieved by how the marines use these special abilities to hold back or slow down the zombie advance.

The zombies won’t be unarmed. We will hopefully take advantage of the Havok engine and allow them to pick up big crates and barrels (objects that would be too heavy for the marines to pick up) to throw or use as a shield.

We have a detailed and ever evolving mod doc that covers exactly what is required so that people who want to join the team can begin work with the minimum of fuss.

We are looking for a modeller to initially create the weapons (9 have been planned for beta 1) and gfx artist to create promotional images, the mod logo, the website title image etc. You dont have to be fast but you should be reliable, friendly and with a mature attitude. This is a serious mod that aims to be here for the long term :)

I like the sound of the mod. Sounds like a mod idea i had some time ago.

Im a mapper, maybe i can help you out. I dont want to get in the mod 100% because i got my own mod to think about :)

Yeah this does sound like a previous idea I had before too. Mine was to have a group of [6] soldiers caught behind enemy lines and up against an unsurmountable amount of terrorists. The objective was to survive at all costs or make it to the exit which could be a extraction chopper or something similiar. A time limit would be implemented. Spawning for the terrorists would be unlimited as it would rsemble a large force constantly engaging. And no spawning for the soldiers, however, first aid treatment would be available but limited. I call it Last Men Standing, rather than the traditional Last Man Standing.

Things like realistic damage modeling and team mate recovery would be some of the highlights of the game. If your man is shot down, it would be up to the other team members to drag him to the exit, even it ment their lives as well. A dragging or carrying animation would be added to give it a realistic and immersive feel. The player who was shot down would have the ability to shoot, only in much more restrictive field of vision. Minor details would be included, things you'd never expect in a game. Example: shooting a radio from a far, severing the enemies communications or shooting the hand used to hold the grip and pull the trigger.

But yeah, nice concept --- hope everything goes good for you.
