I'm unsure about this; should the DM contest winners have ALREADY gotten an email?

Did a search... confusing results.

Has Valve SAID that they've done it already? Is there any way to know?

And they have most likely emailed the winners.

It said that the winners would be notified by e-mail and overnight mail on or around the 29th January.

actually all the 'potential' winners are notified by 30th of jan. and the final winners will be notified a month after that.
