I'm one of those people who wouldn't play counterstrike, cause they didn't like the Gfx in the original...
So i'm effectively a total Noob...

What amkes it worse is I'm stuck on Dialup cause i can't get ADSL in my area...

But hey! I'm still trying
Anyone know anything about when/if we can expect to see bots?
I've heard a lot of mixed opinions.. :S

Regarding the BOT-issue. There hasn't been any official information about the bots yet. Most people hope to see them some time during this month, but nobody really knows. It's all up to Valve, and the content in "teh december update".
