id like them to be .avi or a video with high quality :D
thanks for your help

As far as I'm aware, even if you own the original copies it is still illegal to copy DVDs on to your hard drive.

However google is your friend ;).

Go to divx-digest.com, they have a ton of good programs, I think a popular one is DVD2AVI, and get the DIVX codec so you can encode your AVI with DIVX, it's a codec that makes the file small yet still good quality. You have to pay but there's a free version, although it's not as good as the one you pay for, XVID is another codec exactly like DIVX except it's free and open-source and some say is better.

If you want free codecs then go to:
www.free-codecs.com
Loadsa codec packs for almost anything but also try out VLC media player this is what i use it plays almost any kind of video file and audio file without the use of codecs. Get it here:

I have used it, It's easy and fast. It's a good DVD ripping program. :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Yep, but DVD Shrink isn't for making AVI files I don't think, I have it, what it does is compresses a DVD into one that can fit on a 4.7GB DVD-R/RW disc, so you can burn a copy, and I've tried it (nothing illegal don't worry) and even the compression was like 70% or something and I didn't notice difference in quality.
