Cool Half-Life 2 Remix Song

Sounds pretty neat, the instrumentation is good but they guy needs to create a better perc loop than that for the song to really kick :)

Thats MAD, omg its heeps good, could have used some more sounds in it, but still a bit repetitive, HEEPS GOOD.

A bit repetitive, but better than the orignal. Nice work.

I like it, not as upbeat as I would have expected though. I bet it would make for a good ending credits theme, it just screams conclusion to me. The piano is very good, it fits well to the rhythim, and while not too over bearing, it does make it seem the focus of the peice.

where so u hear the orginal song?

Isn't the original one after that battle in Cubbage's hideout? Where you get the RPG to fight the first gunship?

I like this, very much. Makes me wish Valve would do a huge soundtrack compilation with extended game music like this one. I'd buy it. It would sell well.

I wonder if there's a place to download this? I like it a lot. :E

EDIT: Nevermind... :p

*bump*

I think more people need to see this. The song is really well done, and the ending is one of the freakiest endings I've heard in a while. I hope to see more remixes of this quality.

maybe should give valve tips on making music, well cool

I enjoy it. Repeditivness isn't a problem for me. It's soothing in a way. For some reason it has a sad tone to it.. \= That's just My Opinion though

All in all, great song.

It's a sad tune because it's the song that plays in that warehouse fight where a resistance fighters gets gunned down.

anyother songs? remixed from hl2 material? Also where is this song played, what chapter?

It was played in the Chapter where Cubbage gives you the RPG, you take down the gunship, and right after it explodes it plays and all the resistance fighters all look down because some were lost.

Also after the first resistance fight in the warehouse where one guy gets hit, after the fight it's played, and then you go through the room to get the jeep.

This is pro. It had a very good feel to it. this is good enough for the game. Hats off to the creator.

The original song was less than a minite long, this remix does, in a sense, capture the feel of the original song. I like it.

But it needs more bass, though. It sounds a bit weak.
Nice work, though. This is the first remix I've seen come out for HL2.

I believe that's the ending song. I'm not too sure..... but it's the song played during the credits...

accualy, it didnt play that one, I belive it played song 32.

If only this had a bit more build up in the middle...man.

I dont agree with some of the extranious pianowork. I think the author missed the mark on the melody. But overall it is a really good remix. If any song on the soundtrack needed to be remixed, it was this one.

Exactly, it's one of my favorite parts of the song. That one part lets your imagination soar; at least it did that to me. It's like the song melts into oblivion or something. :D

i like the tone it has. it feels like a HL2 song but i guess thats cuz its the remix of one

It's pretty good. That song was my favourite from the game.

Only problems are there's too much piano with delay (Echo). It just sounds like a piano barrage at points - while the melodies are nice, i think the effect of them gets lost on this. the rest of the instruments is fairly well mixed together.
at 4:25 there's a pretty bad off note that threw me right off when i was listening - it repeats a bar later too.
Unfortunately the drums are very weak and there's hardly any variation to them throughout the song.
The arrangement is of a pretty high standard for a tune like this, it keeps you interested by introducing and removing the right parts at the right times - while still remaining repetetive. (this means, good job!)

Overall i'd say a 6.5/10.
Don't think me a troll, just being constructive :)

To make this song really shine, the piano needs to be tamed somewhat, the drums need some more processing and extra drum layers or percussion to really spice things up in those special moments.
I enjoyed it overall, it was nice to hear an extended version of the valve song which i really enjoyed.

Bring on more, i like hearing remixes.
