Hey, a while ago, when watching the E3 vid, I noticed something really cool. When the giant manatee thing is chasing you (you just jumped out of the buggy), you hide behind a red car thats hanging halfway off of the edge. When the manatee shoots it, you can see the car and the axels of the car moving seperately, simulating the shock absorbers of the car. I thought that was pretty cool. It's 18:57 in the movie.

Yes , people have been discussing this , not lately though so dont worry. And I too think its really amazing , especially being kindof a car nut. Imagine a racing mod on Source

I got really impressed by that... also when the flying manatee got shot down by Gordon and crashed into the all the cars... looked so real, like a movie. :)

Yeah, that's a really stunning detail :) When that Manatee crashes onto the cars, you can see, if you look closely, that the nose of the manatee deforms as it crashes, and things fall off. Pretty cool actually.

Yeah, I love the impact. The gunship crashes and then it goes faster, as it does in real life.

Yep, that axel-stuff was really realistic. Stuff like that really builds up atmosphere.

The whole buggy scene and the night-time scene are my favorites. The cars on the buggy scene are so cool, the axels moving and stuff. And the impact and cars flying. So neat. So... awesome. :)

Edit: Indeed Reiska.

I love the little details like that developers put into games. It really brings them to life I think.

Valve could have easily neglected things like this and nobody would complain. However they didn't which really shows how much effort they put into this.
