I really hope they do this for all the games or BIG news updates etc. I would really love this for Aftermath future Valve games. How about you guys? Is this a feature you would like?

It would be stupid of them to do it with single player games, cuz i beat HL2 the day it came out, im sure ill do the same for aftermath since its 1/3 the length of it. Though i do like this feature for online games, but for any single player game it would be stupid of valve, and they wont do it...

No. What i meant was the counter. lol. Sry if i wasnt clear.

A countdown to Aftermath? Yes please. Only near to release though.

Yes, a counter that starts when pre-loading begins would be nice :)

Ah, shame i can't re-vote, i thought you meant the free dod weekend idea :p but yeah, i like the counters

Just put a nice mysterious counter somewhere on steam like,

AFTERMATH: 14:3:23:21
D H M S

Actually I like the idea of a free tryout time for online games, too (y).

hehe
placed in random locations in Steam for every user? :D

Yeah, like at the bottom of the games list.

Think how many threads it would create "ZOMG I FINK IT IS TEH COUNTDOWN TO ALF LIFE 3"

Useful. Saves people recalculating the ETA for their time-zone...

Very true. Didnt think of that at 1st.

in the case for aftermath countdown should be:

Years Months Days Hours Mins and it constantly resets itself :cheese:

lol i can see it counting down to zero then it saying, Just ironing out a few bugs and a big picture a Doug Lombardi pointing and laughing

Hell yeah, this would be a great idea for Aftermath.

And Half Life 3 would be Decades, Years, Months, Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds.

yeah post was not clear about the counter, but i would love to have one!!

Given Valve's track record at releasing games on time, the counter would need a digit for years :D

Or a disclaimer or margin of error estimatior... and possibly a margin of error estimator for the margin of error estimator.

Decades, Years, Months, Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds,1/100s of Seconds
