Copy GCF File?

Im on a home network with 5 other compys. And so far I have gotten one to preload HL2, and im wondering if steam would care if I just copied the GCF file for HL2. I have done it with other games like CS and such to save on bandwidth but im wondering if HL2 is any different, it shouldnt be but still I would like to know. Plus that would give other people 4 more slots to preload the game. Thanks.

Cool thanks. That means that four of my compys have preloaded in a total of 4 mins. Thats not to shabby. I love having a high speed network, makes my other compys preload so much quicker.

Anyway, are you going to buy 5 licenses? Can you use one key on multiple computers as long as your logged into your Steam account on only one at a time?

For most of them we have the ATI vouchers of goodness. But the others we will have to actually "buy" them (I cringe to hear this word) but it will be worth the $50 or so dollars for it.

Does anybody have a bittorrent link for it? Steam says it can't handle more preloads and I'd jolly jolly like to get it today since from tomorrow on I won't have the bandwidth and download-limit anymore.
